I am back! If you haven’t checked in with me on YouTube or Instagram, I was away in Joshua Tree at a meditation retreat for 11 days – it was incredible! 🧘🏼♀️✨ More on the experience below:
Vipassana was an incredible experience for me. The 10 days I spent away in silence was truly life-changing in the most positive way. If you haven’t caught my latest YouTube video I talk more about what the experience brought me in terms of self-awareness. I am grateful to have attended in one of the most beautiful places I have ever been, Joshua Tree (Southern California) 🌵☀️ Waking up each day in the desert amongst the bloom was one of the most memorable experiences I have ever had with nature 🙏🏼🌿 I am so grateful for the gift of my life and how many beautiful experiences I have had so far. I left beaming (and still am) with excitement of what the future holds…
Coffee Shops & Cuddles
This is Roba. I fell in love with her at a coffee shop in San Diego this past week ❤️ She is actually a rescue! Gabby and I spent this morning at Hawthorn Coffee working away. There’s just something about coffee shops with good vibes and good company that make for a perfect day… Simplicity is bliss.
Hiking Blooming Canyons
How beautiful is the Spring bloom? ☀️ I am so lucky to have experiences it in both San Diego and the desert 🌼🌵 Our world is such a beautiful place. Consider this is your reminder to get outside in nature this week (if you can!) and if not, at least find a good park to eat lunch in or go for a gratitude walk. It will do wonders for you!
It was sad to say goodbye to Gabby and her roommates this week 😔 I always have the greatest times with all of them! 💛 If I hadn’t signed a lease in Toronto I probably would have missed my flight and moved in with them… Seriously. I am so lucky to have such amazing friends from all over the world. Here’s to more adventures together all over the globe!
And so it begins… My next chapter in Toronto. Where will it lead? To ABUNDANCE of course!!! 😃 I am feeling very optimistic and excited to share my life with you as it unfolds. Any predictions?
I am so grateful to tell you it has truly been a life-changing week ❤️ Let’s get started:
Life Coaching Weekend
As I mentioned last week I began my life coaching certification program on Friday. After completing the 30 hour weekend I feel like a new person 😊🙏🏼 I can’t wait to work with more and more people to change their lives. If you are interested in life-coaching I am currently taking on new clients and would love to hear from you! For serious inquiries on stepping up to the plate for a radical life change send me an email: Zoey.Arielle.Vlogs@gmail.com.
I landed my DREAM Apartment
I have been riding on a serious high. I am beyond thrilled to tell you I managed to manifest my dream apartment in Toronto 😊✨ I can’t wait to show it to you and of course film tons of amazing content there! Everything is falling into place so beautifully.
Ignite Your Light
This past week I was featured on my amazing friend Riley’s Podcast “Ignite Your Light.” This was a wonderful interview and I am so grateful to have been featured on her platform 😊 The interview was on the topics of organically growing your audience, staying authentic and landing and managing sponsorships 👩🏼💻 Click here to check it out on iTunes or Spotify.
Five Crowns & Coffee
I spent a couple days of quality time with the family this week. I had some great times with my Bedstemor playing our favourite card game Five Crowns and enjoying morning coffee together 👵🏻👱🏼♀️☕️
Sister Time with Jenn!
I had some short, but always so sweet time with Jenn this week. You guys have definitely met her before 😊 (and you will again soon in an upcoming episode of Zoey’s Diary). Jenn is sunshine in the human form and we always have the best of times talking about life and being silly together 👯♀️ Can’t wait to see her again soon!
Hi Friends! 😊
From Lazio & Tuscany here are the highlights from another incredible week in Italy:
All Smiles & Sunshine
Last Friday Lauren and I met up for gelati to discuss our weekend plans! She recently stumbled across the best vegan gelato in Rome – Wonderful Ice Cream – it’s made with rice milk and it is SO creamy! I was able to have my favourite flavour ever: pistachio. We enjoyed our ice cream in the sun and walked around bella Roma having inspirational life chats 😊
I spent Saturday to Monday in Lucca with Laur! We had such a great time hanging out in this adorable Airbnb, cooking food, talking all things abundance and we even recorded a podcast! You can listen here, I highly recommend it 😉✨ It’s all about my journey from Toronto to Rome – I felt so inspired re-listening to it… My heart feels so full knowing I brought my dream of Italy to fruition through my positive thinking and Law of Attraction.
When in Pisa… 😝 We spent an afternoon in Pisa as it is just a short train ride from Lucca. It was such a beautiful city, it definitely deserves at least a full day! I will be sharing it soon in a Travel Diary 😊 But for now you can check out my highlights on Instagram ☀️
On Wednesday night we attended an aperitivo/party at Le Meridien ✨ It was lots of fun, but mostly because I was surrounded by two of my favorite people Anastasiya & Elyssa ❤️ Sometimes it’s not about where you are, but who you are with.
A Wonderful New Friend
On Thursday I spent the afternoon showing my new friend Yvonne around Rome 😊 This photo is from Palazzo Venezia (a secret hidden gem). We had such a fun day exploring in the sun and had tons of inspiration talks all about life and of course la città eterna! 💛 I am so grateful for a beautiful new friend who shares the same love for Roma!
Happy February ♥️ Can you believe it’s already the second month of 2019? I hope things have been great for you so far. Here are my highlights from the Eternal City:
The Sun Came Out!
The sun came out for one whole day this week 😋… but who is counting? 🤣 It has been a little gloomy lately in Rome which has kept me indoors, but luckily on Tuesday, the day of this very special shoot we had the perfect conditions! 😍 Manifested? I think so.
Shooting a Special Project
Here is another shot from Tuesday’s photoshoot. This was for photo and video promotion for Roma Experience! 🙌🏼 I can’t wait to show the finish products with you all because I know they are going to be so special 😊
Quiet mornings have been something so special in my days. As often as I can I start my days off slowly: journaling, making coffee and/or juice, listening to good music and making an effort to centre myself for the day by focusing solely on positive energy and encouraging thoughts… 💛✨
Pasta, Prosecco & Shane with Sof
Sofie and I had a really fun girls night this week 💃🏽💃🏼 We made vegan carbonara, had some pink bubbly and tuned into Shane Dawson’s latest series. It was a night full of laughter and fun and I am so grateful to have such a special friend here in Roma 💛 PS. We didn’t take photos only videos so this is a screenshot – for the real fun you should be following along on Instagram 😉
From Tuesday’s shoot I also met some amazing new friends in the city 😊 Italian friends, yay! We hadn’t met each other prior to this day, but I know this won’t be the last time I see these guys. They were awesome! Thanks for the amazing day guys.
It’s been a beautiful week in Spain and back to Rome again ❤️ Here are my highlights:
Arriving in Ibiza
Our first night in Ibiza will go down in the history books for one of the top nights of 2018 ✨ We spent the evening on the rooftop of our penthouse dancing to our favourite music, laughing uncontrollably and of course admiring the stunning views (like the sunset pictured above). It was one of those nights that felt so surreal. I couldn’t believe I returned to this island one year later with a completely different – but same, life. SO much has changed and I am so incredibly grateful. 💛 The Universe is always creating for you.
Being of the Mediterranean Sun
There’s just something about being on an island in the Mediterranean Sea ☀️ I feel so inspired under the European sun and I hope one day still I will be able to call this continent home without a visa 💛 This week I officially got my hard-copy Permesso – Italy, I got you babe, for another year 😉🇮🇹
If you know me well you know that Kygo is my favourite DJ 😄 I have always wanted to see him at Ushuaia as this is where he has residency over the Summer ☀️ I have officially tiked this off of my bucket list 🙌🏽 The night was incredible – so full of energy! Check out the highlights from this night on my Instagram Highlights 🤩
I already miss my little sis Gaby 💛 I always learn so much about life from her. She is truly sunshine in the human form ☀️ We definitely did it up #Grande for the last hoo-rah of Summer 🤩🎉 I already can’t wait for all of the future adventures! We have made plans for our next meet-up! Any guesses where? 🌴
And when you want something…
“And, when you want something, all the Universe conspires in helping you to achieve it.”
The beginning of September means the beginning of my Patreon book club! Each month we will be reading a new book in the self-improvement category. Because September always feels like a fresh start to me I wanted to read The Alchemist once again ❤️ Paulo Coelho actually wrote The Alchemist in only 2 weeks! 📚 Can you believe it!? Come get inspired with us, join my community here!
I hope you all had an amazing week 😊 It’s been another beautiful one in Italy. Here are the highlights:
Helicopters & Khaled!
Last weekend our amazing friend Khaled from Jordan came to visit. We took a helicopter tour above beautiful Lazio! (You can see the adventure on my Instagram highlights). This was especially cool because we got to see Tivoli from above, one of the most magical places I have ever been! Perfect for manifesting big dreams 🤩✨
Negroni Infused Watermelon
Yup, you read that right. Last weekend we dined at the Michelin ⭐️ restaurant All’Oro and WOW, this meal will go down in history, not only due to it’s food, but it’s powerful conversation and wonderful people. The whole tasting menu I had was vegan – how amazing there are such options nowadays 🤗 There are no words for how delicious this meal was 😍🌿
Friends in the City
This week I was so fortunate to have so many amazing people in the city! In addition to Khaled there was Sarah, Rafa and Jo! 😊 I met Sarah earlier this year in Paris and we clicked right away, she is truly a truly wonderful person. Full of ambition and natural beauty inside and out – you can find her YouTube channel here. Rafa and Jo were visiting Roma all the way from Chile! 🌎 The last time I saw Rafa was when I was backpacking Europe at age 20 🎒 We had the most incredible time in Corfu, Greece and now we have even more memories from along the Lungotevere in Roma 😊✨
For the Life-Curious
Those of you who know me personally or follow along on my Instagram KNOW I am a bit of a quote junkie 😜 this is why I LOVED listening to The Daily Stoic on Blinkist. Full of wisdom from Stoic Philosophers you can get so much knowledge from this title in a bite-size package 📖 Do you ever feel that sometimes books find you rather than you find them? 🤔 This is exactly how I felt soaking up these insights – all about how to handle this crazy, beautiful thing called life… I highly recommend this download and you can get it for FREE on a 7-day trial from Blinkist, get it by clicking here 😊 Be sure to write me and let me know what you think!
This week my sister Anastasiya was there for me (as per usual) but sometimes we lean on our friends more than other times 💛 whether it be from working through my Italian to making me lemon tea while I fight off a cold 🤧 I am so grateful I have such an unstoppable, inspiring sis who is family to me 👯♀️
*Special thanks to Blinkist for Sponsoring this #FiveThingsFriday
From a beautiful weekend in Veneto all the way back to Lazio, here are the highlights:
How beautiful are these ladies? I am so grateful to have spent the weekend in Venice with such inspiring minds. Each one of us met online (on YouTube) and have now become such good friends ❤️ I’m so grateful for the abundance that has not only come out of this special weekend, but from each and every friendship I have with each of these girls.
I can’t believe how I manifested a friend like Kia into my life. Here goes a long-story-short: We became YouTube friends back in the days of 100 subs, we bonded over being vegan, then bonded even further about being girls with BIG dreams… We began Snapchatting each other to talk over seas and before I knew it Kia was here in Italy 🇮🇹 3 years later we have met up in Italy, Germany and Portugal 🌎 I am so blessed. Her entrepreneurship, authenticity, kindness and drive is some of the most inspirational I have ever come across in my lifetime. Thank you for being YOU, beautiful Kia 🧡 You can find here on Instagram here & on YouTube here.
Burano is #InstaHeaven 📸 full of canals and vibrant fishing houses. If you have plans to visit Venice, Burano is only 45 minutes away by Vaporetto (the boat/metro of Venice) and is TOTALLY worth it! 🚤 The vibes were calm and cool – a whole other world 🤗☀️
Green Juice & Rollarblades
I made two purchases this week for self-improvement and these were a Centrifuga and Rollarblades!! 😜 I’ve been feeling vibrant and energized thanks to the both of them. I feel like a kid, really and truly, it is so important to do FUN things! 🤩 To me rollerblading is so fun (and FUNNY!) and juicing allows me to feel creative each morning in a new way. You can find more highlights on both of these on my Instagram 😘
Zoey’s Diary is back tomorrow and I couldn’t be more excited about it! 🤩 📺 I’ve been laughing harder and smiling more than I ever have, so I am ready to start documenting more of it – starting tomorrow with my beautiful sister Nanuchka (Anastasiya) – Stay tuned 😍
I hope you’ve had a magical week 😊 From Tuscany to Corfu back to Lazio, here are the highlights:
FUN IN TUSCANY FAMILY
Last Summer I had the pleasure of collaborating with Fun in Tuscany on a Tuscany Travel Diary (wine tour) which was the time of my life! Little did I know I would meet some of the best people this life has to offer! The entire team at Fun in Tuscany are full of positive energy and inspiration 😊 A day spent with them is a day spent in pure sunshine ☀️
Tuscany is a magical place – if you’ve ever visited you will know. The rolling green hills, the beautifully painted landscapes and skies… I could go on. This day in Tuscany provoked a lot of reflection for me – how far I have come in a year, what next steps towards my goals will entail, etc. I am excited for the future and all of the gifts I know it will bring. Grazie Toscana 😊☀️
Back to Corfu
Last year while Jenn was visiting from Canada we visited the Greek Island of Corfu. Corfu is a popular tourist destination in Greece because of its beautiful green mountains and sandy beaches (if you’re a young adult it’s also known as a party island 🍾😜). Jenn and I had a great time last year relaxing on the beach with Mythos and Greek snacks. When we visited One Fire beach on the Amalfi Coast Jenn and I were feeling extra-spontaneous so we decided to check out the Skyscanner app to see where we could go in Greece for the least amount of money. We ended up booking a trip to Corfu right then and there (flights & accommodation) for only 120 Euros 😱🙌🏽 Adventures don’t have to be expensive. Here are my tips for booking a Eurotrip.
This is Gyro (pronounced yee-row). This is my little Corfu kitten 🤗. On my last evening in Corfu I sat outside on the balcony stealing wifi to send some emails when this little angel came by to say hello. I named him Gyro (after my favourite beach snack 😋) and played with him for the evening. The gentleman at the front desk came out to tell me that Gyro was actually disowned by his mother because he was the runt of the litter 😥 I instantly wanted to bring him back to Roma with me! The next morning I went out to the front balcony to see if he was still there and sure enough he was – charismatic as ever! (you can see in my Corfu Instagram Highlight 😻). One of the women from the front desk came out when I was playing with him to tell me she was going to be adopting him and taking him home that evening 🙏🏼 This is a reminder that we must always give love ❤️ To animals, to people, to nature. We never know what anyone’s story is so we should always choose to love.
It’s always sunny above the clouds
On my flight back to Rome from Corfu for the first time ever I had the very front seat of the plane, this meant LEG ROOM! And of course a clear, wing-less view outside of the window ☀️ I had intended to work the entire flight; however the view captivated me so much I spent the entire flight in a kind of meditation – watching the clouds, reflecting on life… it was magic and just what I needed. I made the connection that it is always sunny above the clouds. It was clear that below us in the plane there were some dark clouds causing rain, however just above these clouds was the view above. This is how it is in life as well. We all must go through rain clouds at some points, but if we are strong enough and choose to rise above we will always be greeted with sunshine ☀️ Wherever you are now don’t give up and remember to always seek the sunshine, it’s only ever just above your cloud.
I hope you all had an amazing week! From the Amalfi Coast back to Roma here are the highlights:
There’s no place more infinite
As I mentioned last week: there is no place I feel more infinite than the Amalfi Coast. There is such an energy here. One that leaves you feeling breathless, yet full of inspiration. It’s been a long time since I’ve felt in tune with my creativity, but now I am aligning. 🌺
I am most definitely a being of the sun ☀️ Give me sun and I have TOO much energy! 🤩🔥 On Friday the girls and I headed to One Fire Beach in Praiano to spend the day soaking up the Vitamin D and catching up on each other’s lives (My sister Jenn arrived by the way!) This was a perfect day on the Amalfi Coast and I am so grateful to have spent it with my girls from Canada.
The Amalfi Coast Tour with BlueStar Positano
On Saturday we had the most amazing day cruising along the Amalfi Coast with BlueStar Positano. If you haven’t seen my Italian travel diaries, last Summer when I took the day trip to Capri I also went along with the tour company BlueStar Positano, you can find that travel diary here. This time around we did the coastal tour and were able to see the entire Amalfi Coast by boat from Positano to Maiori. Seeing the coast by boat is pure magic and something I consider a must-do when you visit the Amalfi Coast. Of course, seeing the views from the terraces and rooftops is breathtaking, but to see the coast from the water gives you an enchanting view within. So many beautifully covered homes are painted along the mountain sides, there are medieval looking watch towers, hidden beaches, grottos and candy umbrellas decorating the shorelines… there is so much magic to be seen and I can’t wait to share it with you in my upcoming Praiano travel diary 😊 Stay tuned! PS: Don’t forget to ask for Hermes as your captain – he was fantastic!
Embrace Your Body
This is going to be a bit more vulnerable, but it is something I shared with my Patreon community this week and I am going to share it with you now. If it can help at least one person it is always worth it. Here it goes: An ex of mine once told me I didn’t look good in shorts so I shouldn’t wear them. A young Zo (me) internalized this and for over 5 years I haven’t owned or worn a pair of shorts that weren’t strictly for the gym. Sometimes our limiting beliefs or “complexes” (as my girls recognized it as) are in our blindspots. We don’t see or recognize them so we continue to live life with chosen truths. But these truths aren’t true they are simply just words spoken that we then turn into a story. It is us who choose to believe this “story” as a certain truth. I know it sounds silly – shorts? How scary can shorts be? But to me they were. This week I challenge you to ask a friend if they can sense any limiting beliefs or complexes that seem out of your consciousness. Choose to recognize them, embrace them and then take action to step out of your comfort zone. I borrowed Sofie‘s shorts for a night out in Napoli on Sunday (thank you Sof 🤗) and on Wednesday I went out in Roma and purchased a pair of shorts to call my own. I like shorts now, I own a pair of shorts now and now I am wearing a pair of shorts while I write you… And that is my new truth 👩🏼💻
An Evening in Roma
It is so often that the most spontaneous nights turn out to be the best of nights! 💫 After a rooftop Aperitivo at Rinascente the Canadian crew (above) headed to Hostaria Romana for a delicious Italian dinner! We laughed and chatted all evening long and winded up somehow taking large vodka shots? 😝🍋 It was tons of fun and certainly a night to remember with some of my favourite people in my favourite city. Grazie mille amici!
Today I am writing you from the Amalfi Coast in Italy! 😍 One of my very favourite places in the world. It has been an amazing week in the eternal city and on the coast so here are the highlights:
Cruising into the Sunset
On Friday night Rodelio was in town! He manifested a beautiful luxury convertible and picked us up for dinner in it! 🤩 What an exciting surprise. We were all smiles and you can see more on my Instagram highlights. We cruised around Roma, up to Gianicolo and absorbed all of the golden light and views. After that was dinner at his restaurant “Me Geisha” – I’ve shown this stunning restaurant off in a previous video, you can check it out here. The night was full of conversations all about the greatest mystery and blessing of life. 💫
Trust Romewise to take you to the most epic rooftops of Rome – Elyssa sure knows her stuff! When it comes to memorable last minute get-togethers this Aperitivo has bumped it’s way to the top of my list. This beautiful view of the city and the Pantheon can be found at the The Pantheon Iconic Hotel in Rome. I know I will return here for another Aperitivo (or two 😋) this Summer ☀️
First of all, how scary is this building!? Thankfully my appointment for my Permesso and VISA extension wasn’t that scary thanks to Sof! 😊 Sofie took me to my appointment on Monday morning to help me with my documents and translation, I don’t know what I would have done without her and I am so grateful. I am staying in Italy 🇮🇹 I have paid tuition for the next year of Italian classes so I have been able to extend my student visa 😄🎉
LOOK WHO IT IS!!! On Wednesday I was so lucky to have Alicia and Mikaela arrive from British Columbia. These two girls have been my best friends since University times and they never cease to amaze me! Having them here feels like home isn’t so far away. Thank you for your amazing friendship that lasts through years and miles 💛 Can’t wait for all of the adventures that await us here in Italia! 😊
There is no place in the world I feel more infinite than the Amalfi Coast. There’s just something so magical about this special part of Italy… maybe it’s because this is where I fell in love with Italy to a whole new level last year, so much so – I decided to do whatever I could to stay. And this is what I have done. Italia ti amo e spero che tu ami anche me. ❤️
PS: if you didn’t know last week I mentioned I launched a fundraising campaign to support BILLION BABY TURTLES. There is merchandise available in the form of shirts and totes and if merch isn’t your thing there is a GoFundMe page 🤗 $1 can save up to 5 hatchlings!🐢 Get involved!
