Today I am writing you from bella Roma. It has been an amazing week from Toronto to la città eterna ✨ Here are the highlights:
Saturday Night with Nic
How delicious does this Ramen look? 🍜 Little do you know Nic is wearing matching socks 😜 and she actually has an amazing foodie instagram account! Check her captures out here. We had such a good time on Saturday night catching up over dinner and watching Fantastic Beasts. Simplicity is bliss!
Winter Solstice Workshop
On Sunday I attended a Winter Solstice workshop through the shop Kamomile in the beaches of Toronto. This was a gift from my beautiful friend Manesha 😊 I had such a wonderful time learning how to take advantage of this special day of the year – spiritually, emotionally, physically, etc. This is the day and time to let go of what hasn’t served us in 2018 and bring forth the light in 2019. Get your sage out! 😉🌿 Happy Winter Solstice!
High Tea with Mane!
On Monday afternoon my beautiful soul sister Manesha and I enjoyed High Tea at the Windsor Arms Hotel in Toronto 🍵 The decor and ambiance was absolutely stunning and it definitely felt like we had to have been in London somewhere ✨ Have you ever had High Tea?
It’s been nothing but smiles and laughter since I got back to Rome ❤️ This city and it’s energy is extra beautiful this time of year and I am so happy to be able to share it with you (there’s lots of photos and videos of the lights being shared through Instagram) 🎄 More to come in a Zoey’s Diary video very shortly 😘
I’m back 💛 and ready for the best year yet. That means new wishes – I’m currently letting them all brew until 2019 is officially here, then the coins go in! 😉 Are you working on your wishes and intentions for the new year?
It’s been a beautiful and very fulfilling week for me from the Caribbean back home to Canada 🇨🇦 Here are the highlights:
Goodbye Caribbean! ☀️
On Sunday we said good-bye to Punta Cana (you can watch the Travel Diary here) 🌴 It was a wonderful holiday and I am so grateful to have had such special quality time with my family after not seeing them for almost a year. I think we need to do this trip every year! 😋
Dinner with my little brother
On Wednesday night we had dinner with my little brother Drake! We first went to check out his new condo (which is gorgeous, well done bro! 👏🏼) then we went to one of my favourite restaurants in Nanaimo: Firehouse Grill. They have some amazing veggie sushi options btw 😊🌱
Goddess Provisions Box
This week I inboxed an amazing package from Goddess Provisions! I filmed the unboxing in my latest Zoey’s Diary video if you wish to see more 😉 Basically this box was a self/care paradise! Goddess Provisions is actually a monthly subscription and I am looking forward to unboxing more in the future! This could be an excellent Christmas gift idea 👍🏼
How beautiful is my Bedstemor’s Christmas tree!? 😍 It is always my favourite Christmas tree because it is full of family memories. I wish I could be with my family this Christmas 😔 but I am happy to report I still got to experience some of the magic while I was here! 🎄
Cards with Bedstemor
I’ve been having coffee and playing cards with my Bedstemor every day this week and my heart is so full ❤️ I’ve missed her so much. I’ll be back soon.
Hi Friends! 😊
Today I am writing you from beautiful BC 🏔☀️ it’s been an incredible week here and I’m not just talking about the weather! Here are the highlights:
I Started Life-Coaching
YES! My dream is starting to come to fruition 😊 In the past few weeks I have made an active effort to let go of the things that no longer serve me and/or that no longer align with me. This is well-known to happen after the experience of Ayahuasca, but regardless my decisions of closing doors has allowed grande ones to open up in front of me. An example of this has been my ongoing desire to start coaching. In the past 2 weeks I have manifested two clients and I couldn’t be happier doing what I love: inspiring people to live their best lives and achieve their dreams 🤩 If you’re interested in my coaching packages, feel free to email me: firstname.lastname@example.org.
How stunning is this view from Coal Harbour in Vancouver? ✨ I have been so lucky to have such gorgeous weather this week and to be surrounded by such beautiful people. This trip has been everything I’ve needed it to be and more 💙 Thank you for inspiring me VanCity!
This Little Amore
This is Charlie! 🤗 She has been keeping me company this week while my friends have been at work. She is such a sweetheart – I have officially added “Get a dog” to my 2019 list of goals.
Cities in Autumn
I don’t know if there is a more charming time of year than autumn. When the air is crisp and the leaves are vibrant I always feel so refreshed and ambitious 😊🍂 Big changes are happening and big changes are on their way… ✨
This is Julie! 😊 She is one of four (five if you include little Charlie 🐶) that I have been spending the week with here in Vancouver. Every time I am with this group of girls we always have the most incredible times and conversations. I am so lucky to be blessed with such beautiful people in my life inside & out ❤️ There isn’t a picture of all of us together because we were having too much fun living in the moment, but I promise to capture them soon 😉📸
Hola Amigos 😊
Today I am writing you from sunny Puerto Jimenez, Costa Rica. I have had an incredible week volunteering with Latin America Sea Turtles / SEE Turtles and I can’t wait to share it with you! Here are the highlights:
Pura Vida 🌴
Costa Rica is full of some of the kindest people I have ever met while travelling. Costa Ricans use the phrase “Pura Vida” to greet each other and say everything’s great in life. The translation directly means “pure life” or “simple life.” ☀️ I think it is so beautiful as it represents the country so well. I am feeling so fulfilled and rejuvenated 🌿💛
SEE Turtles 🐢
I am so happy to have fulfilled one of my 2018 goals this past week and that was to volunteer with sea turtles. I not only wanted to raise money for the cause (which you can help by clicking here), but I wanted to give back through my own time an energy. In turn this trip has been one of the most rewarding I have ever taken. I only wish I had taken the time to explore volunteer trips sooner! If you are interested in volunteering with sea turtles then check out SEE Turtles – they offer rewarding trips in stunning locations all over the world 🐢❤️🌴
We spotted a SLOTH!
Turtles aren’t the only wildlife I have been hanging out with this week, we actually spotted a sloth in the wild 😮 how incredible! And cute 😊 Costa Rica is full of animals and it will be a miracle if I don’t return home with one… 😋
A Plastic Ocean
As part of the volunteer program this week we watched the documentary “A Plastic Ocean” which was extremely well-done. Through this documentary I have been inspired even more to take care of our beaches, water and to eliminate my plastic waste as a human, and of course continue a vegan diet. I highly recommend watching this documentary to anyone any everyone. It is so powerful when we open our eyes to the problems our behaviours have caused in this world 🌎 in this way and this way only can we be inspired to make positive change. I am happy to report part of the volunteer duties this week has been beach-cleans. I know this is something I will partake in even if I am not on a volunteer project. ❤️
#ZOVEMBER is here!
This week on November 1st, 2018 the second annual #Zovember series has started on my YouTube channel! 😄 This is my yearly challenge of posting 1 video per day for 30 days. This year’s theme can be found in my Welcome to #Zovember video – check it out here!
PS – I am raising money for SEE Turtle’s Billion Baby Turtles Campaign. My goal is to raise $2,500 by the end of 2018. Every little bit counts as $1 can save up to 5 turtle hatchlings 🐢 ❤️ Click here for more information on how you can contribute.
My apologies on the delay in this week’s #FiveThingsFriday. I have taken the week to do a lot of self-reflection at Rythmia Life Advancement Center in Costa Rica. I felt like I needed to take some time offline, so that is why I haven’t posted much on social media. However, I am back! Still in Costa Rica, but ready and refreshed to get writing and posting again 😊 Here are the highlights from my incredible week:
A night in Panama City
I spent Saturday night in a very funky hotel in Panama City called Riande Granada Urban Hotel. I booked this pretty last minute on hoteltonight.com and was impressed. I had a 24 hour layover I wanted to be comfortable and allow myself some space to collect myself before I was to be spending an intense week in Costa Rica – so it was perfect. I treated myself to a nice vegan dinner at The Loving Hut (highly recommend it) 🌿 and then spent the evening in my hotel room watching the finale of Shane Dawson’s latest series 👩🏼💻 I definitely need to check myself in for a cozy night at a hotel more often! It was perfect for some much needed me-time and it set the tone for the rest of the week.
Welcome to Rythmia
Honestly before arriving to Rythmia I had tons of thoughts running through my head and tons of emotions running through my body… I knew the week ahead of me would be challenging, but little did I know at the time it would become one of the best weeks of my life this far. I can’t wait to share more of my experiences with you in #Zovember (30 videos in 30 days on my YouTube channel).
The Journey Within
For those of you who don’t know what I was specifically up to at Rythmia it was a lot of yoga, meditation, breathwork and plant medicine 🌿 I had the life-changing opportunity of partaking in 4 Ayahuasca ceremonies with Shaman from all over the world 🌎 Ayahuasca is an ancient plant medicine from the Amazon jungle that has been used for over 5000 years to heal people: mentally, physically, emotionally and spiritually. It gives one the opportunity to travel within the deepest parts of their mind, body and soul to allow great healing and soul-reconnection 🌻 I took the journey within and it worked. If you are curious about Ayahuasca, I recommend the free documentary The Reality of Truth with Michelle Rodriguez or the book Sh!t The Moon Said by Gerard Armond Powell.
It takes great bravery to face yourself and this is one of the greatest lessons I learned this week at Rythmia. Ayahuasca allows you to face your greatest fears and blocks right in the face – and let me tell you is that ever frightening 😫but the storms I faced always passed, and what is now left of those blocks and limiting beliefs is only a distant memory of what once was. The darkness and negative thought-processes that I once had, even just one week ago, no longer exist in my mind. I realized this week how brave I really am and that is something no one can take from me, not even my own mind.
Hugs & Holding Hands
It has been many years since I have been in a relationship or living near my family… so in that way I haven’t had many moments of long hugs or hand-holding. This is something you don’t realize you need until you have a really bad day, or unless you are in a safe enough space where this becomes a normality. This week at Rythmia I made up for my lost time, there were a lot of healing hugs and in times of need, I had loving hands to hold. I am so grateful for all of my new friends that so quickly became my family 💛
Happy Friday Friends 😊
I hope it has been an amazing week for you! Here are my highlights from lovely Lazio:
Afternoon with Elyssa!
I spent Saturday afternoon with Elyssa! 👯♀️ We had a delicious vegan lunch at Cul de Sac near Piazza Navona and then checked out the piazza post-showers for some photography 📸 The puddles made for some beautiful captures which were visible on my InstaStory – Are you following along? 😉
I will miss you Roma
This was my last week in Roma for almost 2 months. Every time I am about to leave Rome starts to look even more beautiful (if that’s possible) and some “FOMO” starts to kick in 😜 I know amazing adventures await me on the other side though 💛 I can’t wait to see my family. 😊
The Garden of Ninfa
On Sunday I visited the beautiful Garden of Ninfa with my friend Diego. Diego is actually a Patreon of mine, so it was so great to finally meet in person and enjoy such a lovely day together! 😊🌻 The Garden of Ninfa is such a unique place; Its very special microclimate allows for EVERYTHING to grow 🌱 Throughout the Garden you can spot plants, flowers and trees from all over the world 🌍 They can also grow up to 3x their size! How magically incredible! For photos and facts from the Garden of Ninfa you can check out my Instagram Stories.
Rooftops with my Girls
What more could I ask for than an evening with these ladies watching the sunset over Rome? 🧡 Ci vediamo presto amores!
As I mentioned last week, the Universe has been clearing out some energies and bringing some lessons to light for a while now, and I am finally feeling clear again. I know a new chapter is about to unfold and adventure is just around the corner – I couldn’t be more prepared or excited for it! 😄 Andiamo!
Hello my beautiful friends!
I hope you have had a lovely week so far 😊 Here are the highlights of mine:
For the month of October I am partaking in a healthy challenge: #SoberOctober 🎃 I have given up coffee and alcohol and will be off of it for the entire month. So far I have really enjoyed the challenge 😊 It has me feeling refreshed and I have been sleeping deeper than I have in a very long time 😴✨
Sh!t The Moon Said
This week I finished the physical book “Sh!t The Moon Said,” by Gerard Armond Powell 📓 This was a very inspiring true story about changing your life for the better. Powell explains how when you are open to life’s experiences and life’s magic, you have the ability to reconnect to your soul and live your greatest, most authentic life 🙏🏼 Packed full of wisdom, authenticity and change, I highly recommend this book🌚
Sunshine in a Mediterranean Garden
I spent Wednesday poolside at the Rome Cavalieri Waldorf Astoria and what a dream it was. I swam, I read, I lounged… it was so peaceful and beautiful. The pool is surrounded by a Mediterranean garden filled with palm trees and umbrella pines – my favorites! 😍🌴 The parrots were chirping in the trees and the sun was hot. It was the perfect day to dream, set goals and visualize my next chapter ✨
Jo Malone London Event
On Thursday evening I attended the private Jo Malone event in Roma. The party was beautiful and of course smelled like magic! ✨ My favourite fragrances from Jo Malone is Mimosa & Cardamon and Lime, Basil & Mandarin 🧖🏼♀️ If you have never checked out Jo Malone London, I highly recommend it 😍👌🏽
I’ve been reflecting a lot this week before I leave Rome for 7-8 weeks. I’ve noticed the Universe clearing many things out that have actually hindered my growth without me consciously realizing it. However, I am happy to report I have approached these changes with a positive, growth mindset and can see a greater, more abundant future for myself. It is always important we actually learn our lessons the Universe is sending us. That is how we move forward.
I hope you have had an amazing week so far 😊 Here are my highlights from The Eternal City:
Autumn is Coming
Although we’ve consistently been in the high 20’s and even 30’s this week 😛 the leaves are starting to change and I can’t help but to fall in love with Roma all over again! 🍂
Leftover Pasta in Campo
Monday afternoon after class I decided to enjoy pranzo (🇮🇹: lunch) in Campo de’ Fiori for a nice change. This piazza is always bustling and full of life. I plan to make more of an effort to enjoy my lunches outdoors – even if it means my pasta is cold 😉 it’s totally worth it 👌🏽
Canadians of ROME!
On Tuesday night I attended the first event of the season for the Canadian Club of Rome 🇨🇦 We enjoyed a lovely Aperitivo on the rooftop of Palazzo Montemartini. The sun set so beautifully and I was in attendance with two of my favourite people: Anastasiya & Elyssa! 👯♀️ I am so excited to have joined the club for the year, it’s going to be a great one. Eh!? 😛
Nights out in September
This week NSP & DNG have been in town! We’ve had some amazing, inspiring conversations, however whenever that happens we always forget to take a selfie 😛 So this beautiful shot will have to do to represent a wonderful evening of deep conversations and big ideas 🙌🏽 To the #GrandeFuturo ✨
I’ll be Speaking in Rome Next Week!
For those of you who follow along from The Eternal City I will be speaking at The Yellow Hostel on Wednesday, September 19th at 18:00 😊 I am looking forward to meeting some of you and inspiring you along your journeys. Hope to see you there ❤️ Sign up for the event here!
It’s been a beautiful week in Spain and back to Rome again ❤️ Here are my highlights:
Arriving in Ibiza
Our first night in Ibiza will go down in the history books for one of the top nights of 2018 ✨ We spent the evening on the rooftop of our penthouse dancing to our favourite music, laughing uncontrollably and of course admiring the stunning views (like the sunset pictured above). It was one of those nights that felt so surreal. I couldn’t believe I returned to this island one year later with a completely different – but same, life. SO much has changed and I am so incredibly grateful. 💛 The Universe is always creating for you.
Being of the Mediterranean Sun
There’s just something about being on an island in the Mediterranean Sea ☀️ I feel so inspired under the European sun and I hope one day still I will be able to call this continent home without a visa 💛 This week I officially got my hard-copy Permesso – Italy, I got you babe, for another year 😉🇮🇹
If you know me well you know that Kygo is my favourite DJ 😄 I have always wanted to see him at Ushuaia as this is where he has residency over the Summer ☀️ I have officially tiked this off of my bucket list 🙌🏽 The night was incredible – so full of energy! Check out the highlights from this night on my Instagram Highlights 🤩
I already miss my little sis Gaby 💛 I always learn so much about life from her. She is truly sunshine in the human form ☀️ We definitely did it up #Grande for the last hoo-rah of Summer 🤩🎉 I already can’t wait for all of the future adventures! We have made plans for our next meet-up! Any guesses where? 🌴
And when you want something…
“And, when you want something, all the Universe conspires in helping you to achieve it.”
The beginning of September means the beginning of my Patreon book club! Each month we will be reading a new book in the self-improvement category. Because September always feels like a fresh start to me I wanted to read The Alchemist once again ❤️ Paulo Coelho actually wrote The Alchemist in only 2 weeks! 📚 Can you believe it!? Come get inspired with us, join my community here!
From Italia to Croazia here are the highlights 😊
Conquering Fears with Friends!
On Monday Elyssa and I went paragliding (which you’re about to see). For as long as I can remember heights have been one of my biggest fears, however being with one of your friends makes it easier 👯♀️ You can see more of the experience on our Instagram highlights (@zoeyarielle & @romewise). Can’t wait for future day trips with Elyssa! 💛
I ran off a Mountain!
Yessss! 🤩 This is me and my Pilot at Cloud Hunters named Stefano. Cloud Hunters is a paragliding business in Lazio, just outside of the city of Roma, but close enough to get there by public transportation. This was my first time paragliding and definitely not the last 🙌🏽 The views were incredible! We ran off the Terminillo mountain range, and more specifically Monte Rosato, which translates to Mount Rose 😋💕
After paragliding our new friends from Cloud Hunters took us to explore the medieval town of Labro. The walls, walkways, gardens and castle have been so well-preserved 🏰 The small town is located on top of a hill in the Lazio region bordering Umbria. This allowed for stunning views in every direction 🌄
Sunsets that Steal Hearts
On Thursday afternoon I arrived in Dubrovnik, Croatia 🇭🇷 that’s right, I am back! This time for a week of adventure in Dubrovnik ☀️ I’m so excited to share the adventures with you. This was the sunset from last night 🧡
This morning we toured the Dubrovnik walls! I’ve never felt more like I was walking through a fairytale! The sea, the ships, the castles, the ocean!! 😍 What magic! Dubrovnik has quickly become one of my top 5 cities in Europe! More on this next week 😉
