Five Things Friday: April 26th, 2019

Hi Friends!

I am back! If you haven’t checked in with me on YouTube or Instagram, I was away in Joshua Tree at a meditation retreat for 11 days – it was incredible! 🧘🏼‍♀️✨ More on the experience below:

Vipassana

Vipassana was an incredible experience for me. The 10 days I spent away in silence was truly life-changing in the most positive way. If you haven’t caught my latest YouTube video I talk more about what the experience brought me in terms of self-awareness. I am grateful to have attended in one of the most beautiful places I have ever been, Joshua Tree (Southern California) 🌵☀️ Waking up each day in the desert amongst the bloom was one of the most memorable experiences I have ever had with nature 🙏🏼🌿 I am so grateful for the gift of my life and how many beautiful experiences I have had so far. I left beaming (and still am) with excitement of what the future holds…

Coffee Shops & Cuddles

This is Roba. I fell in love with her at a coffee shop in San Diego this past week ❤️ She is actually a rescue! Gabby and I spent this morning at Hawthorn Coffee working away. There’s just something about coffee shops with good vibes and good company that make for a perfect day… Simplicity is bliss.

Hiking Blooming Canyons

How beautiful is the Spring bloom? ☀️ I am so lucky to have experiences it in both San Diego and the desert 🌼🌵 Our world is such a beautiful place. Consider this is your reminder to get outside in nature this week (if you can!) and if not, at least find a good park to eat lunch in or go for a gratitude walk. It will do wonders for you!

Sunshine Sister

It was sad to say goodbye to Gabby and her roommates this week 😔 I always have the greatest times with all of them! 💛 If I hadn’t signed a lease in Toronto I probably would have missed my flight and moved in with them… Seriously. I am so lucky to have such amazing friends from all over the world. Here’s to more adventures together all over the globe!

Next Chapter

And so it begins… My next chapter in Toronto. Where will it lead? To ABUNDANCE of course!!! 😃 I am feeling very optimistic and excited to share my life with you as it unfolds. Any predictions?

Hi Friends!

From Vancouver to Toronto, here are the highlights from an incredible week 😊

Canucks Game

I had so much fun on Friday night in Vancouver reuniting with my cousins. We all checked into the River Rock Casino Resort and headed to the Canucks Game 🏒 Although they lost we had so much fun 😄 endless laughter with these ones always!

Happy 90th Birthday Bedstemor!

This past weekend was my Bedstemor’s 90th Birthday celebration! She was born on St. Patrick’s Day 🍀 My heart is incredibly full after spending so much quality family time with my loved ones! Above is Bedstemor and all of her granddaughters 😊

IMG_2936

Full Moon Ritual With Mane

On Wednesday Manesha and I celebrated the full moon together with a healing and inspiring ritual. I am truly grateful to have such an incredible woman in my life who I can call a soul sister 💛 Manesha has so many powerful healing gifts to share with this world (you can follow her journey on Instagram here) and I am so grateful she shares them with me! From yoga to reiki to herbal remedies to straight-up bomb advice on every subject, she is sunshine in the human form. ☀️

Fresh Cut, Fantastic Stylist

Tory has been cutting my hair since I first moved to Toronto 6 years ago (wow!) She is the only person I let touch my hair with scissors! ✂️ She is not only incredibly at her job, but she is such a beautiful person inside and out and always brightens my day! ✨ If you’re looking for a stylist in the 6 she’s your woman! 🤩 You can find her at Medulla & Co on Queen West and on Instagram here.

Hi Friends!

I hope you’ve all had a fantastic week! Here are my updates from Canada 😊

IMG_2550

Spa Day

What better way to get over jet-lag than to visit the Spa? 😛 Meika (my stepmom) and I planned a fun day of visiting the Rock & Gem show, a sushi lunch, facials at the spa and spontaneously, we added an Italian dinner to the mix! 🇮🇹 It was the perfect day and full of lots of quality time. If you ever find yourself on Vancouver Island the Tigh Na Mara is one of the best spas – be sure to get the “Illuminating Facial,” you won’t be disappointed. 🧖🏼‍♀️

Hiking

Meika and I went for a hike on Sunday to a beautiful lookout over my hometown 🏔 There was a lot of snow up the mountain so this made for an event greater adventure than we planned for 😝but overall it was a great day, full of fresh air and views.

Birthday Time!

This week we are celebrating two very special birthdays in my family 🥳 It is my Dad’s birthday and also my Bedstemor’s 90th Birthday! This weekend we are heading over to Vancouver as a family (18 of us!) for a fun weekend. To check out the highlights, follow me on Instagram!

Ski Day

On Wednesday my Dad and I went skiing up Mount Washington to celebrate his birthday! 🥳 The conditions were incredible ☀️ I’ve been coming up this mountain since I was a little girl – it’s where I originally learned to ski and snowboard ⛷ I’ve missed skiing so much so I’m glad we made time for this!

Beautiful BC

I am truly grateful to have settled back into my original home for the past week. It’s been a breath of fresh air, literally 😛The transition of moving from Rome back to Canada has gone smoother than expected. I’m feeling very excited about what is to come! I’ll of course keep you updated. 😉

Five Things Friday: March 8, 2019

Hi Friends!

I hope you’re all having an amazing day 😘 This week was full of life-changing events! Let’s get into the highlights:

Mezcaleria Callejon

Mexican food and good friends – what more could you want from life!? 🤩 Anastasiya and I had the pleasure of checking out Rodelio‘s newest creation: Mezcaleria Callejon. This did not disappoint! If you are in Rome and happen to be craving Mexican food – this is your place! PS. There’s a speakeasy downstairs 😉

A day with Gaia!

Gaia and I had an incredible day checking out Colosseo! ☀️ Gaia runs the Instagram account @supporting_zoey – which was my first ever fan account! 💛 We had the perfect day – sunshine, gelato & Colosseo! 🍦 My mind is always blown by this incredible place – Have you ever seen the Colosseum in person?

Alcazar

If you’re looking for a good night out in Rome check out Alcazar in Trastevere for live music 🎶 We had a great time celebrating my last hoo-rah (for now) in la città eterna, and what a fun night it was! 👯‍♀️

I said Goodbye to Rome…

Yes, it is true. I had to say goodbye to my beloved Roma. However, all I have been feeling is an intense gratitude for all that has come of these past few years. Incredible experiences and amazing friends – I feel truly blessed 🥰 Have you seen my Good-bye Italy video?

IMG_2580

I made is Home

I made it home to Vancouver Island! 💙 I am so excited for this next chapter and to spend some quality time with my family over the next week. I have missed them so much!

Five Things Friday: March 1st, 2019

Hi Friends!

I hope you’ve had an incredible week! Can you believe it’s already March? 💛 Here are my highlights from Roma:

img_2107

Fregene for Lunch!

Last weekend Emilio, Sofie and I went to Fregene for lunch 😊 Fregene is a small town near Fiumicino (still in the Roma region). We had a wonderful, long, Italian lunch together at Rosario and basked in all that delicious vitamin D we have been having! ☀️

Breathtaking Roma

How gorgeous is this view? I don’t think I’ve ever seen the Colosseum from above with my own eyes! This photo was taken from the Victor Emmanuel monument at Piazza Venezia – OR the big white building, the typewriter, or the wedding cake 😜 This view is not to be missed! Especially for sunset if you have the chance.

Tira un po’ di vento

Roma threw some wind at us this week, but she was kind enough to keep the sunshine 😊☀️ Elyssa and I went sunset hunting and had an incredible time – filming, climbing, apritivo-ing and dining with Rodelio! I’m so grateful for these times and these people 🙏🏼❤️

img_2285

Cin Cin Pierluigi

Sof and I grabbed Negronis together on Thursday night at Pierluigi. The ambiance was beautiful and we had such inspirational conversations ✨ These are the nights and the friendships that fuel you 🙏🏼

I’m Reflecting

I’m going through some intense reflections right now, all on the positive side, but it has had me feeling quite overwhelmed… An emotional rollarcoaster if you will 🎢 🤪. Roma and Italy have done so much for me. My heart is incredibly full of gratitude for the past couple of years and I can’t believe I’ve been so lucky to live out my dreams… Enough emotional rambles though, stay tuned for Wednesday’s video.

Five Things Friday: February 22nd, 2019

Hi Friends!

I hope you have all had an amazing week 😊 Here are my highlights from Lazio ☀️

Back on my Blades!

Sunshine in the city meant perfect weather for rollar-blading ☀️ The lungotevere had been cleared of the mud that was left behind after the rain flooded the paths, so I was happy to be back down there beside the water, blading around freely 🙌🏼

Winter Light in Rome

The Winter light in Rome, I believe, is perhaps the most beautiful. It is light and airy-looking and makes for the most beautiful photos 📸 We’ve been blessed with warm sunshine this week, which has the city feeling more like Spring, but Winter is still here saying her last good-byes.

Santa Marinella

On Thursday Elyssa and I took one of famous day trips, this time to Santa Marinella 🌴☀️ Santa Marinella is a small beach town an hour by train from Rome – I just love this little seaside town! I first visited SM in my first couple of weeks of moving to Rome. I went for a beach day in September with my first friends in Rome who were American students studying architecture. I remember laying on the beach looking up at the palm trees, swimming the sea, eating peaches from the market and just knowing this was about to be the most incredible chapter of my life… And so it was.

Adventures with Elyssa!

Elyssa and I always seem to manifest the most perfect days together – I believe this is because we never make a serious plan and we just go with the flow. I am so grateful for her. Stay tuned for upcoming videos on her channel as well as mine! 😊👌🏼

Freedom, Bliss, Peace & Excitement

I’m going through the motions… You’ll know why very soon. Overall these days my heart has been filled with so much gratitude it could burst. I have never been at such a beautiful peace within myself… I don’t really know what else to really say about this, but I guess the word is alignment. I feel aligned with my path more than I ever have before. It’s a beautiful thing 😊

Five Things Friday: February 15th, 2019

Hi Friends! 😊

From Lazio & Tuscany here are the highlights from another incredible week in Italy:

All Smiles & Sunshine

Last Friday Lauren and I met up for gelati to discuss our weekend plans! She recently stumbled across the best vegan gelato in Rome – Wonderful Ice Cream – it’s made with rice milk and it is SO creamy! I was able to have my favourite flavour ever: pistachio. We enjoyed our ice cream in the sun and walked around bella Roma having inspirational life chats 😊

Lucca

I spent Saturday to Monday in Lucca with Laur! We had such a great time hanging out in this adorable Airbnb, cooking food, talking all things abundance and we even recorded a podcast! You can listen here, I highly recommend it 😉✨ It’s all about my journey from Toronto to Rome – I felt so inspired re-listening to it… My heart feels so full knowing I brought my dream of Italy to fruition through my positive thinking and Law of Attraction.

PISA

When in Pisa… 😝 We spent an afternoon in Pisa as it is just a short train ride from Lucca. It was such a beautiful city, it definitely deserves at least a full day! I will be sharing it soon in a Travel Diary 😊 But for now you can check out my highlights on Instagram ☀️

Girls Night

On Wednesday night we attended an aperitivo/party at Le Meridien ✨ It was lots of fun, but mostly because I was surrounded by two of my favorite people Anastasiya & Elyssa ❤️ Sometimes it’s not about where you are, but who you are with.

A Wonderful New Friend

On Thursday I spent the afternoon showing my new friend Yvonne around Rome 😊 This photo is from Palazzo Venezia (a secret hidden gem). We had such a fun day exploring in the sun and had tons of inspiration talks all about life and of course la città eterna! 💛 I am so grateful for a beautiful new friend who shares the same love for Roma!

xx Zo

Five Things Friday: February 8th, 2019

Hi Friends!

It’s been such a sunny week in Roma full of abundance ☀️ Here are the highlights:

Happy Chinese New Year!

This week was not only the new moon, but also the Chinese New Year! ❤️ For me, the energies have been incredible, allowing for clear intentions, inspiration and positivity running on high! I have the sunshine to thank for this too, of course ☀️

Savvy Stopped By

On Monday my amazing friend Savannah arrived in Roma! ☀️ We had such a fun visit together – exploring Roma, taking lots of photos, eating incredible pasta and filming a 5-part series for YouTube that will be starting on Sunday! Stay tuned 😍

Zumaaaaa

On Monday night we got together with Sofie and her friend Steph who was also visiting Roma the same time as Sav. We had some great conversations and catch ups as well as some super-cool cocktails. If you’re looking for a good place to try some mixology in Roma, Zuma is always on point.

Evenings in Roma

Clear skies and sunshine has allowed for some great sunsets over Rome this week 💛 Overlooking the Eternal City as the sun goes down always fills my heart and is something everyone should experience. This photo was taken at the top of the Spanish Steps.

Admiring Roma

Yesterday I was hosting one of my Airbnb Instagram tours and we were lucky enough to notice no lineup outside of the Pantheon so of course we had to go inside! 🤩 This building always blows my mind – over 2000 years old and still breathtaking with it’s beauty. The only question is… How did they build it? Or is the question, “Who?” 👽😋

Five Things Friday: February 1st, 2019

Hi Friends!

Happy February ♥️ Can you believe it’s already the second month of 2019? I hope things have been great for you so far. Here are my highlights from the Eternal City:

The Sun Came Out!

The sun came out for one whole day this week 😋… but who is counting? 🤣 It has been a little gloomy lately in Rome which has kept me indoors, but luckily on Tuesday, the day of this very special shoot we had the perfect conditions! 😍 Manifested? I think so.

Shooting a Special Project

Here is another shot from Tuesday’s photoshoot. This was for photo and video promotion for Roma Experience! 🙌🏼 I can’t wait to show the finish products with you all because I know they are going to be so special 😊

Quiet Mornings

Quiet mornings have been something so special in my days. As often as I can I start my days off slowly: journaling, making coffee and/or juice, listening to good music and making an effort to centre myself for the day by focusing solely on positive energy and encouraging thoughts… 💛✨

Pasta, Prosecco & Shane with Sof

Sofie and I had a really fun girls night this week 💃🏽💃🏼 We made vegan carbonara, had some pink bubbly and tuned into Shane Dawson’s latest series. It was a night full of laughter and fun and I am so grateful to have such a special friend here in Roma 💛 PS. We didn’t take photos only videos so this is a screenshot – for the real fun you should be following along on Instagram 😉

New Friends

From Tuesday’s shoot I also met some amazing new friends in the city 😊 Italian friends, yay! We hadn’t met each other prior to this day, but I know this won’t be the last time I see these guys. They were awesome! Thanks for the amazing day guys.
