Five Things Friday: July 20

Hi Friends!

It’s been another beautiful week in Croatia ๐Ÿ‡ญ๐Ÿ‡ท Here are the highlights ๐Ÿค—

This is my beautiful friend Michelle and her daughter Iva! Finally we got to meet up in Europe after years of talking about it (even before I made the move over here myself ๐Ÿ˜‹). We had great times together relaxing in Croatia and of course watching the game! ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿฝ What an experience!

Drone Pilots ๐Ÿš

This is my little drone pilot Livija ๐Ÿ’› She is definitely one of the highlights of my week! Sometimes we all need to be a kid again and as I mentioned last week this was also a theme. After the devastating loss of my friends just prior to leaving for Croatia I told myself this trip is going to be all about living in the moment, exploring and finding imagination, creativity and play again. Thank you to little Livija for really reminding me what it means to be a kid again ๐Ÿ˜Š

Brinje is a beautiful town about half hour in from the Coast in Northern Croatia ๐Ÿ‡ญ๐Ÿ‡ท It was a long bus ride up the coast and inland after getting off the MedSailors boat in Split, but so worth it! The nature, the tranquility and of course the quality time spent with amazing people made this a highlight of my trip and overall time in Croatia ๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿงก If you’re looking for a relaxing place to be in nature, Brinje is it! I slept better here than I have in months ๐ŸŒฟโ˜€๏ธ

World Cup Celebrations

I returned to Split from Brinje late afternoon on Tuesday and these were the sights! ๐Ÿ’ฅ The city was still in high spirits celebrating Croatia’s second placement in the World Cup! โšฝ๏ธ๐ŸŽ‰ You can see there is so much pride in this photo – the atmosphere was incredible. I am happy I got to experience this accomplishment for the Croatia and take in the sights, sounds and energy. ๐Ÿ˜„๐Ÿ‡ญ๐Ÿ‡ท

Two Nights in Split

I spent two nights in Split by myself this week before boarding my flight back to Rome ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡น (yesterday evening). This was just what I needed ๐Ÿ˜Š As you know I am very comfortable with solo travel. I find it very rewarding, reflective and relaxing. If you have not yet visited Split it is a very special place built up and around an ancient Roman Palace – you feel transported in time ๐Ÿฐ I can’t wait to share my travel diaries with you from my trip โ˜€๏ธ I am excited to dive into inspiring editing mode this weekend ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿฝ More YouTube content from me very soon!

Five Things Friday: July 13th

Happy Friday the 13th Friends!

Don’t fear – We have a cheerful post ahead ๐Ÿ˜Š A week filled with sunshine, sea and smiles in Croazia!

Reunited with my GRANDE crew! ๐Ÿคฉ The last time Cheryl, Sofie an I were all together was in Amsterdam for VidCon. Each time we reunite it is like we have never spent any time apart. I am always so thankful the Universe brought me these Euro-YouTube Life-Genuine-GRANDE-friendships. ๐Ÿงก

Au Naturale

Even a year ago when I spent the summer backpacking Europe I felt very self-conscious about not wearing any makeup.

Makeup been a ritual every morning for me since I began experimenting with it as a teenager (Yup, experimenting is the right word – you bet I wore thick, black eyeliner on the bottom lid). Because I wore makeup more often than not – through school, corporate life, travel life – I don’t think I fully knew what I looked like without it, nor was I entirely comfortable without it.

When I moved back to Rome at the end of January (this year) I began to practice not wearing makeup every day. This sparked from being so relieved to have my Visa in hand and feeling grateful for the Universe working it all out in my favour that I took a big, long, reflective look in the mirror… and noticed that I looked absolutely exhausted.

It was a long trek back to Rome after living out of a suitcase for 8 Months – being fog-locked, having flights cancelled, snow storms – I saw it all – I suppose you could say it was the storm before the calm.

In that reflective moment in the mirror I decided it was time to give my skin a break, my face a break, myself a serious break. I needed to see my glow come back (I was in my favourite city after all! โ˜€๏ธ) From then on and in present times I only wear makeup when I have a special occasion or genuinely feel like being creative with my appearance. It has allowed for a new respect for myself to blossom. Every day I am more comfortable with me because on a visual level I see me more. Makeup might sound silly to some of you, but for me letting go of it more regularly has allowed for a lot more clarity, not only in my skin, but for me too.

Spritzin’ with Penelope!

This week was full of laughter and Penelope was definitely responsible for some good bursts of it! ๐Ÿ˜œ๐Ÿฆ„ I think we all need to be a kid now and again. I’m happy I was able to let go of responsibilities and worries on this trip (for the most part) and live in the moment… I felt like a kid again and it was special because I realize it’s been far too long. I’m sorry for not posting on YouTube this week – I will be back again soon โค๏ธ

Hula Hula in HVAR

This. Is. Us. ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿ˜„ More and more laughter here in Hvar ๐Ÿ“ธ We had a grande night out – dancing by the sea, sharing a giant mojito and enjoying one of the best sunsets I have ever seen ๐ŸŒžThese moments will live in my memories forever. Thanks for making this trip so grande Amores!

Thank-you MedSailors!

Thank you so much to MedSailors for the amazing week at sea ๐Ÿ˜Š A week exploring Croatia with our Captain Jo and the MedSailors crew was the perfect combination of adventure, relaxation, touring and fun! โ˜€๏ธ I can’t wait to share my Travel Diaries with you. Croatia has so much natural beauty, I know you’re going to love it! For anyone wanting to explore the beautiful parts of this world by the sea MedSailors offers tours in Croatia, Greece, Italy, Turkey and the Caribbean! ๐Ÿคฉ I can’t wait to see more of this world by boat! โ›ต๏ธ

*Special thanks again to MedSailors for sponsoring this holiday & post.

Five Things Friday: July 6

Buongiorno Amici,

I hope you have all had a wonderful week. Here are some reflections from mine ๐Ÿ’›

On Friday night I had a catch up with Gaby! It was recently our Friendsaversary (yes this is a thing! ๐ŸŽ‰) so I want to express my gratitude for this very special friendship. Gaby and I met on a little island called Ibiza ๐ŸŒด- have you heard of it? ๐Ÿ˜œ I was so close to not going to Ibiza… the day of my flight I found myself running down the streets of Barcelona; sweaty, hungover and stressed-the-eff-out. However, somehow I got my messy self to the airport an hour before my flight and thank goodness I did! Gaby and I clicked the first day we met, but over the past year she has turned from a friend to a sister. From bottomless inspirational life chats to boochcraft in California to #Grande adventures in Roma this girl had become family โค๏ธ thank you for blessing my life sunshine!ย ๐Ÿค—โ˜€๏ธ

A GRANDE Victory!

Friends!!!! You see this above!? ๐Ÿ˜„ This is my permesso (a temporary one until I pick up the real deal in a few weeks, but still a PERMESSO) this means I AM ALLOWED TO STAY IN ITALY. If you’ve been following me for a while you know how much this means to me. Italy is my dream, the place in the world where I feel the most myself and the place which grants me infinite inspiration ๐Ÿ’› I am so grateful. Here’s to a lifetime (because I’m Manifesting it) in my home, Rome! ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡น

SPA Time Celebrations!

This special date at the spa with Sofie was to celebrate her upcoming wedding (yay Sof! ๐Ÿ‘ฐ๐Ÿป) and to thank her for all of her generosity in the process of staying in Italy. I truly would not have been able to stay in Italy if it wasn’t for my beautiful friend and her kindness. Grazie mille Sofie, you have changed my life, not only by this, but by being a true friendย ๐Ÿ’›

Parco dei Principi

Although it was hard to smile and be present this evening (you will find out in my next mention ๐Ÿ˜”) I was captivated by Rome’s eternal beauty. I had the pleasure to attend the Summer Party at Parco dei Principi. As you can see here or on my Instagram highlights it was a stunning event and I am so grateful to have been in attendance. Roma, I can’t wait to continue to fall in love with you for the rest of my life! Thank you for giving me inspiration, love, abundance and most of all a life truly lived.

Not a Highlight

All of the the #FiveThingsFriday are always highlights and/or positive reflections I have had through my week, however I have something to mention today that isn’t a positive. The world lost 3 incredibly bright lights this past week in Canada. Rest in Peace Ryker, Alexey and Mindy. I am still in shock over the loss, trying to process why this had to happen, but there are many things in this life we will never be able to make sense of. This will be another on that list…

My darkest, yet most transformational year was the year I wrote about in Beauty in the Breakdown. If you haven’t read it, it showcases a year of my life from getting out of an abusive, toxic relationship to finally pursuing my life-long dream of moving to Rome, Italy. Both Ryker and Alexey played a huge roll in this dream of mine becoming a reality. Through their channel and their kindness I was able to paint a new road ahead of myself… One with travel, insatiable curiosity and an extreme lust for life. Times were dark and uncertain and they sparked a new light. When I put in my two weeks notice at my corporate job they were the first people I wrote. I know that if they had this type of impact on my life there are so many more deeply affected by what has happened. My thoughts and my prayers go out to all of you โค๏ธ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿผ

Rest In Peace Ryker, Alexey and Mindy.

Thank you for living your lives to the fullest as a beautiful reminder for all of us to do the same. May no day ever be taken for granted.

Five Things Friday: June 29

Hi Friends!

I hope you’ve had an amazing week so far ๐Ÿ˜„ From the Eternal City, I bring you my highlights:

Always Self-Improving

“A Sunday well-spent brings a week of content.” ๐Ÿ˜Š It’s been a whirlwind of fun and adventurous times having my friends from Canada here for the past month so on Sunday I took a little “me-Day” to focus on relaxing and self-Improvement. I decided to listen to the book “Off The Clock” after I saw it quoted on Blinkist’s Instagram page. It turns out it was exactly what I needed to listen to to allow myself to feel motivated and inspired to live my best life even when I feel the “busyness” up ahead of me overwhelming. Special thanks to Blinkist for sponsoring this post and allowing all of my friends to receive a 7-day free trial from the app! (click here to get it) If you didn’t already know Blinkist allows you to read or listen to the titles of over 2,000 books in 15 minutes or less. Consider treating your brain to some knowledge this weekend ๐Ÿ˜„ I recommend “Off The Clock.”

Rooftops with my Romafam

Sometimes all you need is a night on a rooftop with your girls, or in this case my “RomaFam.” Anastasiya and Elyssa both feel like my family and I am so grateful to have them in my life. They’re the type of people you feel like you have known forever because sometimes they know you better than you even know yourself โค๏ธ I am so lucky!

Wadi Rum Memories

If you’re subscribed to my YouTube channel you know this week I have been pumping out the content from my life-changing trip to Jordan. This week I published Wadi Rum, Petra and The Dead Sea – have you checked them out yet?ย ๐Ÿ˜„ย I personally think Wadi Rum is one of my favourite videos I have ever made.

Thinking about the future…

I’ve been in solid reflection mode for about a week now – maybe it’s the new moon? ๐ŸŒ I’ve been thinking a lot about my life so far, the path I have carved out for myself, what I have learnt and what is next for me… I feel excited and ambitious. Yesterday evening I had a call with my life coach and I think I have finally begun to push away a large block when it comes to trust and relationships. Here’s to a #GrandeFuturo ๐Ÿฅ‚โค๏ธ

if you’ve followed along on my journey (especially my Zoey’s Diary series or if you are part of my Patreon community) you know that wifi is a serious issue here in Rome. The reason is because the centre of Rome is so old they have not yet placed a fibre underground which grants the city good wifi – I know, first world problems ๐Ÿ™ˆ – but when you work online this is a BIG problem! Normally it takes anywhere from 6-12 hours for me to upload a YouTube video… just to give you an idea. But finally, after months of searching for a cafe with good wifi, EX-CIRCUS (formerly Circus) has opened back up! Can you hear the angels!? I was finally able to conduct a clear stable livestream with my Patreon audience! Woohoo and thank you to all of you who tuned in ๐Ÿ˜Š

Five Things Friday: June 22

Ciao Amici!

I hope you’ve had a magical week ๐Ÿ˜Š From Tuscany to Corfu back to Lazio, here are the highlights:

Last Summer I had the pleasure of collaborating with Fun in Tuscany on a Tuscany Travel Diary (wine tour) which was the time of my life! Little did I know I would meet some of the best people this life has to offer! The entire team at Fun in Tuscany are full of positive energy and inspirationย ๐Ÿ˜Šย A day spent with them is a day spent in pure sunshineย โ˜€๏ธ

Grazie Toscana

Tuscany is a magical place – if you’ve ever visited you will know. The rolling green hills, the beautifully painted landscapes and skies… I could go on. This day in Tuscany provoked a lot of reflection for me – how far I have come in a year, what next steps towards my goals will entail, etc. I am excited for the future and all of the gifts I know it will bring. Grazie Toscana ๐Ÿ˜Šโ˜€๏ธ

Back to Corfu

Last year while Jenn was visiting from Canada we visited the Greek Island of Corfu. Corfu is a popular tourist destination in Greece because of its beautiful green mountains and sandy beaches (if you’re a young adult it’s also known as a party island ๐Ÿพ๐Ÿ˜œ). Jenn and I had a great time last year relaxing on the beach with Mythos and Greek snacks. When we visited One Fire beach on the Amalfi Coast Jenn and I were feeling extra-spontaneous so we decided to check out the Skyscanner app to see where we could go in Greece for the least amount of money. We ended up booking a trip to Corfu right then and there (flights & accommodation) for only 120 Euros ๐Ÿ˜ฑ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿฝ Adventures don’t have to be expensive. Here are my tips for booking a Eurotrip.

Kitten Cuddles

This is Gyro (pronounced yee-row). This is my little Corfu kitten ๐Ÿค—. On my last evening in Corfu I sat outside on the balcony stealing wifi to send some emails when this little angel came by to say hello. I named him Gyro (after my favourite beach snack ๐Ÿ˜‹) and played with him for the evening. The gentleman at the front desk came out to tell me that Gyro was actually disowned by his mother because he was the runt of the litter ๐Ÿ˜ฅ I instantly wanted to bring him back to Roma with me! The next morning I went out to the front balcony to see if he was still there and sure enough he was – charismatic as ever! (you can see in my Corfu Instagram Highlight ๐Ÿ˜ป). One of the women from the front desk came out when I was playing with him to tell me she was going to be adopting him and taking him home that evening ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿผ This is a reminder that we must always give love โค๏ธ To animals, to people, to nature. We never know what anyone’s story is so we should always choose to love.

It’s always sunny above the clouds

On my flight back to Rome from Corfu for the first time ever I had the very front seat of the plane, this meant LEG ROOM! And of course a clear, wing-less view outside of the window โ˜€๏ธ I had intended to work the entire flight; however the view captivated me so much I spent the entire flight in a kind of meditation – watching the clouds, reflecting on life… it was magic and just what I needed. I made the connection that it is always sunny above the clouds. It was clear that below us in the plane there were some dark clouds causing rain, however just above these clouds was the view above. This is how it is in life as well. We all must go through rain clouds at some points, but if we are strong enough and choose to rise above we will always be greeted with sunshine โ˜€๏ธ Wherever you are now don’t give up and remember to always seek the sunshine, it’s only ever just above your cloud.

Five Things Friday: June 15

Ciao Amici,

I hope you all had an amazing week! From the Amalfi Coast back to Roma here are the highlights:

There’s no place more infinite

As I mentioned last week: there is no place I feel more infinite than the Amalfi Coast. There is such an energy here. One that leaves you feeling breathless, yet full of inspiration. It’s been a long time since I’ve felt in tune with my creativity, but now I am aligning. ๐ŸŒบ

One Fire

I am most definitely a being of the sun โ˜€๏ธย Give me sun and I have TOO much energy!ย ๐Ÿคฉ๐Ÿ”ฅ On Friday the girls and I headed to One Fire Beach in Praiano to spend the day soaking up the Vitamin D and catching up on each other’s lives (My sister Jenn arrived by the way!) This was a perfect day on the Amalfi Coast and I am so grateful to have spent it with my girls from Canada.

The Amalfi Coast Tour with BlueStar Positano

On Saturday we had the most amazing day cruising along the Amalfi Coast with BlueStar Positano. If you haven’t seen my Italian travel diaries, last Summer when I took the day trip to Capri I also went along with the tour company BlueStar Positano, you can find that travel diary here. This time around we did the coastal tour and were able to see the entire Amalfi Coast by boat from Positano to Maiori. Seeing the coast by boat is pure magic and something I consider a must-do when you visit the Amalfi Coast. Of course, seeing the views from the terraces and rooftops is breathtaking, but to see the coast from the water gives you an enchanting view within. So many beautifully covered homes are painted along the mountain sides, there are medieval looking watch towers, hidden beaches, grottos and candy umbrellas decorating the shorelines… there is so much magic to be seen and I can’t wait to share it with you in my upcoming Praiano travel diary ๐Ÿ˜Š Stay tuned! PS: Don’t forget to ask for Hermes as your captain – he was fantastic!

Embrace Your Body

This is going to be a bit more vulnerable, but it is something I shared with my Patreon communityย this week and I am going to share it with you now. If it can help at least one person it is always worth it. Here it goes: An ex of mine once told me I didn’t look good in shorts so I shouldn’t wear them. A young Zo (me) internalized this and for over 5 years I haven’t owned or worn a pair of shorts that weren’t strictly for the gym. Sometimes our limiting beliefs or “complexes” (as my girls recognized it as) are in our blindspots. We don’t see or recognize them so we continue to live life with chosen truths. But these truths aren’t true they are simply just words spoken that we then turn into a story. It is us who choose to believe this “story” as a certain truth. I know it sounds silly – shorts? How scary can shorts be? But to me they were. This week I challenge you to ask a friend if they can sense any limiting beliefs or complexes that seem out of your consciousness. Choose to recognize them, embrace them and then take action to step out of your comfort zone. I borrowed Sofie‘s shorts for a night out in Napoli on Sunday (thank you Sof ๐Ÿค—) and on Wednesday I went out in Roma and purchased a pair of shorts to call my own. I like shorts now, I own a pair of shorts now and now I am wearing a pair of shorts while I write you… And that is my new truthย ๐Ÿ‘ฉ๐Ÿผโ€๐Ÿ’ป

An Evening in Roma

It is so often that the most spontaneous nights turn out to be the best of nights! ๐Ÿ’ซย After a rooftop Aperitivo at Rinascente the Canadian crew (above) headed to Hostaria Romana for a delicious Italian dinner! We laughed and chatted all evening long and winded up somehow taking large vodka shots? ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ‹ It was tons of fun and certainly a night to remember with some of my favourite people in my favourite city. Grazie mille amici!

Five Things Friday: June 8

Hi Friends,

Today I am writing you from the Amalfi Coast in Italy! ๐Ÿ˜ One of my very favourite places in the world. It has been an amazing week in the eternal city and on the coast so here are the highlights:

Cruising into the Sunset

On Friday night Rodelio was in town! He manifested a beautiful luxury convertible and picked us up for dinner in it! ๐Ÿคฉ What an exciting surprise. We were all smiles and you can see more on my Instagram highlights. We cruised around Roma, up to Gianicolo and absorbed all of the golden light and views. After that was dinner at his restaurant “Me Geisha” – I’ve shown this stunning restaurant off in a previous video, you can check it out here. The night was full of conversations all about the greatest mystery and blessing of life. ๐Ÿ’ซ

New Views

Trust Romewise to take you to the most epic rooftops of Rome – Elyssa sure knows her stuff! When it comes to memorable last minute get-togethers this Aperitivo has bumped it’s way to the top of my list. This beautiful view of the city and the Pantheon can be found at the The Pantheon Iconic Hotel in Rome. I know I will return here for another Aperitivo (or two ๐Ÿ˜‹) this Summer โ˜€๏ธ

First of all, how scary is this building!? Thankfully my appointment for my Permesso and VISA extension wasn’t that scary thanks to Sof! ๐Ÿ˜Š Sofie took me to my appointment on Monday morning to help me with my documents and translation, I don’t know what I would have done without her and I am so grateful.ย  I am staying in Italy ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡นย  I have paid tuition for the next year of Italian classes so I have been able to extend my student visa ๐Ÿ˜„๐ŸŽ‰

BC’s Finest

LOOK WHO IT IS!!! On Wednesday I was so lucky to have Alicia and Mikaela arrive from British Columbia. These two girls have been my best friends since University times and they never cease to amaze me! Having them here feels like home isn’t so far away. Thank you for your amazing friendship that lasts through years and miles ๐Ÿ’› Can’t wait for all of the adventures that await us here in Italia!ย ๐Ÿ˜Š

Costiera Amalfitana

There is no place in the world I feel more infinite than the Amalfi Coast. There’s just something so magical about this special part of Italy… maybe it’s because this is where I fell in love with Italy to a whole new level last year, so much so – I decided to do whatever I could to stay. And this is what I have done. Italia ti amo e spero che tu ami anche me. โค๏ธ

xx Zo

PS: if you didn’t know last week I mentioned I launched a fundraising campaign to support BILLION BABY TURTLES. There is merchandise available in the form of shirts and totes and if merch isn’t your thing there is a GoFundMe page ๐Ÿค— $1 can save up to 5 hatchlings!๐Ÿข Get involved!

Five Things Friday: June 1

Hi Friends!

Happy Fri-yay! ๐Ÿคฉ This week’s Five Things Friday covers my trip to Porto ๐Ÿ‡ต๐Ÿ‡น and back to Roma! ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡น Here are the highlights:

The Beach in Portugal

Even though the overall weather was cooler in Portugal (15-20 degrees) we had a beautiful couple of days at the beach. I love the sea so much ๐Ÿ˜Š We spent the days listening to good music, talking about life, playing on SUP boards, swimming and jumping in the waves. It was sunny, I was surrounded by some of the best people in my life and truly, there was nowhere I would have rather beenย โ˜€๏ธ๐Ÿ‡ต๐Ÿ‡น

We met on YouTube

I met these beautiful souls on YouTube! ๐Ÿ’• Photographed is Cheryl from NonStopParis and Kia from Kia Charlotta (they’re kind of big deals). I still remember talking to these girls via YouTube comments when I was back in Toronto. Who would have ever thought we would become the greatest of friends? Thank you for brightening my life ladies ๐Ÿ’› I am so grateful.

La Grande Bellezza

You’re getting a lot of selfies from me this week! I suppose that is because we are all smiles in summertime ๐Ÿ˜Šโ˜€๏ธ This is my best friend Aaron who is visiting from Canada! On Wednesday evening we went for aperitivo at La Grande Bellezza at Piazza Navona. This rooftop is stunning and grants you an amazing 360 view of Rome (you can find it in my Instagram highlights). We each tried a fun cocktail ๐Ÿน and had great conversation with the couple who sat beside us. You never know who you’re going to meet ๐Ÿ˜Š thank you for inspiring me!

Pinch me! Pincio!

Can you spot San Pietro? Yesterday evening I went for a run up at Pincio in Villa Borghese. If you have never been you must put this on your list for your next trip to Roma! Pincio grants you a sweeping view over Rome and watching the sunset here will make you fall all the more in love with the eternal city. ๐Ÿ’ซ

Ciampini Thursday

Anastasiya and I have been planning to go to Ciampini on a Thursday for MONTHS! Something has always come up wether it was work or weather, but finally we got a golden hour at our favourite place! ๐Ÿ’ซ It was a grande evening of manifestation and law of attraction talks. It’s never a dull moment with my sister. ๐Ÿ’ƒ๐Ÿผ๐Ÿ’ƒ๐Ÿผ

Five Things Friday: May 25

Hi Friends!

Today I am writing you from Porto, Portugal! ๐Ÿ‡ต๐Ÿ‡น I have just arrived so you will have to wait for pictures until next week ๐Ÿ˜‰ but here are some highlights from the eternal city:

I took myself out

On Sunday I took myself out. As you know I have been making more and more of a conscious effort to live in the now and of course be what I wish to attract in this world โ˜€๏ธ I had no place to be, but instead of starting off the day with work I decided to put myself together and take myself out for a frappรจ at Sant Eustacchio il Caffe. After that I took a beautiful walk around the city ๐ŸŒธ Actively taking the time to pursue living in the now can do wonders for your productivity ๐Ÿ“ˆ

Rising & Shining

Since being back from my amazing trip to Jordan as mentioned last week it’s been petal to the metal with time management and projects ๐Ÿ‘ฉ๐Ÿผโ€๐Ÿ’ป As you may know if you checked out my recent Morning Routineย video on YouTube I normally start my day between 5-6 AM. I have been plugging into Blinkist to help motivate me to be productive and make positive choices throughout the day and one book I want to take the time to recommend to you is The Miracle Morning. In less than 15 minutes I promise you will be inspired to start your day early and excited about it! Don’t believe me? Blinkist is offering my friends a 7-day free trial, try it out here:ย *Special thanks to Blinkist for sponsoring today’s post.

Castel Sant’Angelo

Did you know Rome has a castle? ๐Ÿฐ On Tuesday my amazing friend Elyssa (from Romewise) invited me to check out Castel Sant’Angelo. This was my first time visiting the castle and I already can’t wait to go back. Castel Sant’Angelo is also known as Hadrian’s Mausoleum and was constructed in 135 AD! Always, always, always my mind is continually blown by the history of the Roman Empire. Inside is beautiful and if you wish to see more you can check out my Instagram highlights ๐Ÿคณ๐Ÿผ This photo above was taken by Elyssa in the castle bar where I highly recommend you stop for an Aperitivo after your tour. ๐Ÿน๐Ÿ˜Š

Billion Baby Turtles

This week I launched my first fundraising campaign for baby sea turtle hatchlings ๐Ÿข 6 out of 7 species of sea turtles are endangered and only 1/10 hatchlings survive โ—๏ธ These facts are both shocking and upsetting, which is why I have partnered with SEE Turtles to raise money for their Billion Baby Turtles project. For every dollar raised up to 5 hatchlings can be saved. I have created tee shirts, tank tops and tote bags where all of the proceeds will go towards Billion Baby Turtles. If merchandise isn’t your thing you can also donate to the cause via GoFundMe. Please consider taking the time to donate in some way or become more aware ๐Ÿ‘ For additional information you can check out my YouTube video.

Salute Summer

As I mentioned last week Summer has arrived here in Rome, regardless of what the calendar says ๐Ÿ“† The sun is out and the adventures have begun! โ˜€๏ธ This week my best friend Aaron arrived from Canada and I am currently writing you from Porto, Portugal with a fun group of friends! ๐Ÿค— Although the sun isn’t out in Porto at the moment I feel like I am surrounded by it anyways. Good people = good vibes ๐Ÿ’›

Five Things Friday: May 11

Happy Friday Friends! ๐Ÿ˜Š

From Jordan to Italy it’s been an amazing week. Here are my highlights:

A Magical Day with New Friends

My last full day in Amman, Jordan was pure magic (I mean the whole trip was magic, but it’s like the Universe didn’t want me to forget it!). Photographed above is Khaled, Hiba, myself and Anastasiya, we had an unforgettable breakfast at Shams el Balad. The kindness of everyone I met in Jordan will stay with me forever and I can’t wait to go back and visit. After breakfast we visited our friends at Travel One and then went to Hana Hassan’s home for a wonderful and very magical surprise – BUT you’ll have to wait for my travel diaries to find out more ๐Ÿ˜‰

Downtown Amman

Amman has a vibe and a #grande one ๐Ÿคฉ I love everything about this city – the ancient ruins, the people, the white houses, the call to prayer, the markets, the fresh sugar cane juice, the palm trees, the spices, the smells – I could go on, but I think you get the point! โ˜บ๏ธ I am so grateful to have been able to be in a place where I consistently found myself immersed in the now. Nowhere else, but right there wandering through the streets with my friends in downtown Amman. What is this life ๐Ÿ˜ฎ? Something truly wonderful. ๐Ÿ˜Šโœจ

Blinkist Book of the Month: Daring Greatly

What does vulnerability mean to you? To me vulnerability has given me confidence, meaningful friendships and the ability to connect with my audience. In the past however, vulnerability was terrifying (although, at times it still is)… it’s sort of like jumping out of a plane (even though I haven’t done that yet ๐Ÿ˜‹). I see working up to the jump like figuring out the words you need to speak to be set free, jumping is being brave enough to take action and the free-falling is the relief you feel from speaking your truth and setting yourself free…

I have chosen to highlight this book because as we are about to break into the new season of Summer next month I think everyone could benefit a little by taking more responsibility for their lives. Some ways to do this include: speaking your truth, striving for authenticity and sharing your thoughts in moments you may normally find yourself shy. Brene’s book has inspired me to do this. Set yourself free from whatever holds you back; it’s empowering. ๐Ÿ˜Š

Have you read or listened to Daring Greatly? I think you should. ๐Ÿ“š

Thank you to my friends at Blinkist for sponsoring this blog post. It’s applications like this that not only allow me to grow personally, but also allow me to continue to share my knowledge and inspiration with you – and it’s your lucky day because they have a deal for you! Buon Compleanno Anastasiya!

On Monday, May 7th we celebrated my beautiful soul sister Anastasiya’s birthday at Hotel de Russie. We had a wonderful lunch in the garden full of great conversations with great people ๐Ÿ˜Š๐ŸŒธ What more could you want from life?
