Five Things Friday: April 26th, 2019

Hi Friends!

I am back! If you haven’t checked in with me on YouTube or Instagram, I was away in Joshua Tree at a meditation retreat for 11 days – it was incredible! ๐Ÿง˜๐Ÿผโ€โ™€๏ธโœจ More on the experience below:

IMG_4379

Vipassana

Vipassana was an incredible experience for me. The 10 days I spent away in silence was truly life-changing in the most positive way. If you haven’t caught my latest YouTube video I talk more about what the experience brought me in terms of self-awareness. I am grateful to have attended in one of the most beautiful places I have ever been, Joshua Tree (Southern California) ๐ŸŒตโ˜€๏ธ Waking up each day in the desert amongst the bloom was one of the most memorable experiences I have ever had with nature ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿผ๐ŸŒฟ I am so grateful for the gift of my life and how many beautiful experiences I have had so far. I left beaming (and still am) with excitement of what the future holds…

Coffee Shops & Cuddles

This is Roba. I fell in love with her at a coffee shop in San Diego this past week โค๏ธ She is actually a rescue! Gabby and I spent this morning at Hawthorn Coffee working away. There’s just something about coffee shops with good vibes and good company that make for a perfect day… Simplicity is bliss.

Hiking Blooming Canyons

How beautiful is the Spring bloom? โ˜€๏ธ I am so lucky to have experiences it in both San Diego and the desert ๐ŸŒผ๐ŸŒต Our world is such a beautiful place. Consider this is your reminder to get outside in nature this week (if you can!) and if not, at least find a good park to eat lunch in or go for a gratitude walk. It will do wonders for you!

Sunshine Sister

It was sad to say goodbye to Gabby and her roommates this week ๐Ÿ˜” I always have the greatest times with all of them! ๐Ÿ’› If I hadn’t signed a lease in Toronto I probably would have missed my flight and moved in with them… Seriously. I am so lucky to have such amazing friends from all over the world. Here’s to more adventures together all over the globe!

Next Chapter

And so it begins… My next chapter in Toronto. Where will it lead? To ABUNDANCE of course!!! ๐Ÿ˜ƒ I am feeling very optimistic and excited to share my life with you as it unfolds. Any predictions?

Five Things Friday: February 15th, 2019

Hi Friends! ๐Ÿ˜Š

From Lazio & Tuscany here are the highlights from another incredible week in Italy:

All Smiles & Sunshine

Last Friday Lauren and I met up for gelati to discuss our weekend plans! She recently stumbled across the best vegan gelato in Rome – Wonderful Ice Cream – it’s made with rice milk and it is SO creamy! I was able to have my favourite flavour ever: pistachio. We enjoyed our ice cream in the sun and walked around bella Roma having inspirational life chatsย ๐Ÿ˜Š

Lucca

I spent Saturday to Monday in Lucca with Laur! We had such a great time hanging out in this adorable Airbnb, cooking food, talking all things abundance and we even recorded a podcast! You can listen here, I highly recommend it ๐Ÿ˜‰โœจย It’s all about my journey from Toronto to Rome – I felt so inspired re-listening to it… My heart feels so full knowing I brought my dream of Italy to fruition through my positive thinking and Law of Attraction.

PISA

When in Pisa… ๐Ÿ˜ We spent an afternoon in Pisa as it is just a short train ride from Lucca. It was such a beautiful city, it definitely deserves at least a full day! I will be sharing it soon in a Travel Diary ๐Ÿ˜Š But for now you can check out my highlights on Instagram โ˜€๏ธ

Girls Night

On Wednesday night we attended an aperitivo/party at Le Meridien โœจ It was lots of fun, but mostly because I was surrounded by two of my favorite people Anastasiya & Elyssa โค๏ธย Sometimes it’s not about where you are, but who you are with.

A Wonderful New Friend

On Thursday I spent the afternoon showing my new friend Yvonne around Rome ๐Ÿ˜Š This photo is from Palazzo Venezia (a secret hidden gem). We had such a fun day exploring in the sun and had tons of inspiration talks all about life and of course la cittร  eterna! ๐Ÿ’› I am so grateful for a beautiful new friend who shares the same love for Roma!

Five Things Friday: January 25th, 2019

Hi Friends!

I hope you have had an incredible week so far ๐Ÿ˜Š Here are my updates from the Eternal City:

A Day with Gaia!

On Saturday I was so lucky to spend the entire day with Gaia, she is the wonderful girl behind the Instagram account @supportingzoey. We started our day at the DREAM exhibit, went for pizza, strolled by Colosseo, got gelati and matching NASA shirts – it was the perfect day! ๐Ÿค—๐Ÿ’›

Dreams

This photo was from my favourite room at the Dream exhibit I attended with Gaia. It was pure magic – the whole exhibit, but this room especially! โญ๏ธ If you are in Rome or visiting Rome soon it is definitely worth a visit. At the end of the tour there were beautiful quotes about dreams all over the walls and on ribbon bracelets. I picked myself up one that read, “Solo chi sogna puรฒ volare…โ€ which means, “Only those who dream can fly…” โœจ Volare amores!

We Celebrated Elyssa’s Birthday!

On Tuesday we celebrated Elyssa’s birthday! ๐Ÿฅณ It was actually in August and this photo was actually from last night, but our schedules have been all over the map for the past few months so finally on Tuesday we R&R’d and had facials at Hotel de Russie ๐Ÿ’› It was so lovely spending this quality time with my girls ๐Ÿ‘ฏโ€โ™€๏ธโœจ

Manifest Miracles

This week I published my 4th book: MANIFEST MIRACLES! ๐Ÿ˜„ It is the Ultimate Guidebook for the Law of Attraction. I am so excited to finally share this project with you as I truly believe it holds the keys to help you manifest your dreams. Within the book are all of the exercises I used and use on a regular basis to attract all that I have in my life now in Italyย ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿผโœจย I hope you enjoy it!ย

#WelcomeToTheExceptional

So last night was a dream ๐Ÿ˜โœจ I had so much fun with Elyssa and Joanne. You can watch all the magic on my Instagram Story highlights, but basically it was something straight out of The Great Gatsby! โœจ Trust Elyssa to always know the BEST places & happenings in the city! Nobody does #Grande like Roma ๐Ÿ’›

Five Things Friday: December 21

Hi Friends!

Today I am writing you from bella Roma. It has been an amazing week from Toronto to la cittร  eterna โœจ Here are the highlights:

Saturday Night with Nic

How delicious does this Ramen look? ๐Ÿœ Little do you know Nic is wearing matching socks ๐Ÿ˜œย and she actually has an amazing foodie instagram account! Check her captures out here. We had such a good time on Saturday night catching up over dinner and watching Fantastic Beasts. Simplicity is bliss!

Winter Solstice Workshop

On Sunday I attended a Winter Solstice workshop through the shop Kamomile in the beaches of Toronto. This was a gift from my beautiful friend Manesha ๐Ÿ˜Š I had such a wonderful time learning how to take advantage of this special day of the year – spiritually, emotionally, physically, etc. This is the day and time to let go of what hasn’t served us in 2018 and bring forth the light in 2019. Get your sage out! ๐Ÿ˜‰๐ŸŒฟ Happy Winter Solstice!

High Tea with Mane!

On Monday afternoon my beautiful soul sister Manesha and I enjoyed High Tea at the Windsor Arms Hotel in Toronto ๐Ÿต The decor and ambiance was absolutely stunning and it definitely felt like we had to have been in London somewhere โœจ Have you ever had High Tea?

Rome!

It’s been nothing but smiles and laughter since I got back to Rome โค๏ธ This city and it’s energy is extra beautiful this time of year and I am so happy to be able to share it with you (there’s lots of photos and videos of the lights being shared through Instagram) ๐ŸŽ„ More to come in a Zoey’s Diary video very shortly ๐Ÿ˜˜

Wishes

I’m back ๐Ÿ’› and ready for the best year yet. That means new wishes – I’m currently letting them all brew until 2019 is officially here, then the coins go in! ๐Ÿ˜‰ Are you working on your wishes and intentions for the new year?

xx Zo

Five Things Friday: Aug 24

Hi Friends!

I hope you all had an amazing week ๐Ÿ˜Š It’s been another beautiful one in Italy. Here are the highlights:

Helicopters & Khaled!

Last weekend our amazing friend Khaled from Jordan came to visit. We took a helicopter tour above beautiful Lazio! (You can see the adventure on my Instagram highlights). This was especially cool because we got to see Tivoli from above, one of the most magical places I have ever been! Perfect for manifesting big dreams ๐Ÿคฉโœจ

Negroni Infused Watermelon

Yup, you read that right. Last weekend we dined at the Michelin โญ๏ธ restaurant All’Oro and WOW, this meal will go down in history, not only due to it’s food, but it’s powerful conversation and wonderful people. The whole tasting menu I had was vegan – how amazing there are such options nowadays ๐Ÿค— There are no words for how delicious this meal was ๐Ÿ˜๐ŸŒฟ

Friends in the City

This week I was so fortunate to have so many amazing people in the city! In addition to Khaled there was Sarah, Rafa and Jo! ๐Ÿ˜Š I met Sarah earlier this year in Paris and we clicked right away, she is truly a truly wonderful person. Full of ambition and natural beauty inside and out – you can find her YouTube channel here. Rafa and Jo were visiting Roma all the way from Chile! ๐ŸŒŽ The last time I saw Rafa was when I was backpacking Europe at age 20 ๐ŸŽ’ We had the most incredible time in Corfu, Greece and now we have even more memories from along the Lungotevere in Roma ๐Ÿ˜Šโœจ

For the Life-Curious

Those of you who know me personally or follow along on my Instagram KNOW I am a bit of a quote junkie ๐Ÿ˜œ this is why I LOVED listening to The Daily Stoic on Blinkist. Full of wisdom from Stoic Philosophers you can get so much knowledge from this title in a bite-size package ๐Ÿ“– Do you ever feel that sometimes books find you rather than you find them? ๐Ÿค” This is exactly how I felt soaking up these insights – all about how to handle this crazy, beautiful thing called life… I highly recommend this download and you can get it for FREE on a 7-day trial from Blinkist, get it by clicking here ๐Ÿ˜Š Be sure to write me and let me know what you think!

Unstoppable Sis

This week my sister Anastasiya was there for me (as per usual) but sometimes we lean on our friends more than other times ๐Ÿ’› whether it be from working through my Italian to making me lemon tea while I fight off a cold ๐Ÿคง I am so grateful I have such an unstoppable, inspiring sis who is family to me ๐Ÿ‘ฏโ€โ™€๏ธ

Five Things Friday: June 8

Hi Friends,

Today I am writing you from the Amalfi Coast in Italy! ๐Ÿ˜ One of my very favourite places in the world. It has been an amazing week in the eternal city and on the coast so here are the highlights:

Cruising into the Sunset

On Friday night Rodelio was in town! He manifested a beautiful luxury convertible and picked us up for dinner in it! ๐Ÿคฉ What an exciting surprise. We were all smiles and you can see more on my Instagram highlights. We cruised around Roma, up to Gianicolo and absorbed all of the golden light and views. After that was dinner at his restaurant “Me Geisha” – I’ve shown this stunning restaurant off in a previous video, you can check it out here. The night was full of conversations all about the greatest mystery and blessing of life. ๐Ÿ’ซ

New Views

Trust Romewise to take you to the most epic rooftops of Rome – Elyssa sure knows her stuff! When it comes to memorable last minute get-togethers this Aperitivo has bumped it’s way to the top of my list. This beautiful view of the city and the Pantheon can be found at the The Pantheon Iconic Hotel in Rome. I know I will return here for another Aperitivo (or two ๐Ÿ˜‹) this Summer โ˜€๏ธ

VICTORY

First of all, how scary is this building!? Thankfully my appointment for my Permesso and VISA extension wasn’t that scary thanks to Sof! ๐Ÿ˜Š Sofie took me to my appointment on Monday morning to help me with my documents and translation, I don’t know what I would have done without her and I am so grateful.ย  I am staying in Italy ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡นย  I have paid tuition for the next year of Italian classes so I have been able to extend my student visa ๐Ÿ˜„๐ŸŽ‰

BC’s Finest

LOOK WHO IT IS!!! On Wednesday I was so lucky to have Alicia and Mikaela arrive from British Columbia. These two girls have been my best friends since University times and they never cease to amaze me! Having them here feels like home isn’t so far away. Thank you for your amazing friendship that lasts through years and miles ๐Ÿ’› Can’t wait for all of the adventures that await us here in Italia!ย ๐Ÿ˜Š

Costiera Amalfitana

There is no place in the world I feel more infinite than the Amalfi Coast. There’s just something so magical about this special part of Italy… maybe it’s because this is where I fell in love with Italy to a whole new level last year, so much so – I decided to do whatever I could to stay. And this is what I have done. Italia ti amo e spero che tu ami anche me. โค๏ธ

xx Zo

PS: if you didn’t know last week I mentioned I launched a fundraising campaign to support BILLION BABY TURTLES. There is merchandise available in the form of shirts and totes and if merch isn’t your thing there is a GoFundMe page ๐Ÿค— $1 can save up to 5 hatchlings!๐Ÿข Get involved!

Five Things Friday: April 6

Hi Friends!

I hope you’ve all had a great week. I have been in Rome and I can definitely say Spring is upon us! ๐ŸŒท Here are the highlights:

I Went Out

In day to day life I don’t get out much. Living in Italy these days has felt a lot more like “surviving” and I am also guilty of being a bit of a workaholic, especially when I get anxious (doesn’t make much sense does it ๐Ÿค”). However, because Gabby was in town I think she could tell I could use a night out so we met up with some of her friends and had a great time in Trastevere. From playing foosball at a Rumeria to dancing the night away to live music, it was just what I needed! Sometimes you just need to get out and dance it out! ๐Ÿ’ƒ๐Ÿผ๐Ÿ’ƒ๐Ÿฝ๐Ÿ’ƒ๐Ÿผ

100,000 Subscribers!

100K happened this week on April 1st and it was no joke! ๐Ÿ˜„๐ŸŽ‰ I am so incredibly grateful for every single one of you who have ever watched, liked, commented or subscribed to my YouTube channel โค๏ธ Your support means so much to me ๐Ÿ˜Š as a giveaway I have partnered with Gioielli DOP to pick out a unique gift for a very special subscriber. Have you entered? Watch my 100K video to find out how.

Special Visitors

The day Gabby left I was also gifted with more visitors! Manesha, Shaguna and Aahana ๐Ÿ˜Š it has been great to have such wonderful sisters here to chat about life and enjoy the city while the weather has been shining โ˜€๏ธ I love when I watch other people fall in love with Rome (it seems to have that effect on a lot of people ๐Ÿ˜‰) We have some awesome plans for the weekend too! Be sure to follow along on Instagram to watch the adventures unfold. ๐Ÿ“ธ

Spontaneous Colazione

I recently discovered this cute cafe on a side street near my apartment. They even have vegan cornetti! ๐Ÿฅ If you didn’t know the typical Italian breakfast consists of a spremuta (orange juice) ๐ŸŠ, a cappuccino โ˜•๏ธ and a cornetto (also known as a croissant) ๐Ÿฅ. It is so often people go out for dinner or drinks, but how about a breakfast? (If you can) I definitely recommend treating yourself to a spontaneous breakfast this week. Not a bagel from Tim Hortons or something from the Starbucks drive-thru, but a sit down, enjoy your surroundings breakfast. ๐ŸŠ Cheers!

Sometimes you just need a sunset…

As previously mentioned the theme these days in Rome has been surviving. If I were to tell you the things I’ve had to go through the past couple of months since returning I think a lot of you would question why I am still here or how I am still sane. However, I understand I am in a period of contrast in life and the brightness is just around the corner… I must persevere as the only way out is through. My blog and my channel is a place for positivity so I will not be going into much more detail (but just know, I go through difficult times too). I have already taken the time to vent about such issues with my closest friends (sorry guys! ๐Ÿ™ˆ) and have began to take more time for myself, read and repeat affirmations and organize my life to the best I can. Sometimes we just need a sunset, something to grant us a pure moment of beauty to understand why all of the chaos makes sense. Thank you Rome, for granting me the craziest of chaos, yet the most beautiful moments. ๐Ÿงก

Have a beautiful weekend friends โค๏ธ

Five Things Friday: January 19th

Hi Friends!

Each Friday I am now going to be writing about five of my favourite things & moments from the week. I hope you enjoy it ๐Ÿ™‚

My Friend Mikaela

If you had been following along on my adventures on Instagram you would have known it was quite the journey from Nanaimo, Vancouver Island, British Columbia to Toronto, Ontario. My amazing friend Mikaela was there for me every step of the way, from waking up with me at 3:30am to call the airline when my flight was cancelled, driving me to-and-from the airport multiple times when my flights were cancelled multiple times, listening and responding to my rambling, emotional voicenotes and even bringing snacks! This girl deserves the world and I am so grateful to have her as one of my best friends in this life.

Arriving in Toronto: The Pursuit of Italy

So I finally made it to Toronto! I have had a great time settling back in (for a little while) with my amazing friends Steph and Dan, you may remember them from our adventures in Cinque Terre or Tuscany. This trip marks the middle ground for heading back to Italy; I have also officially handed in my VISA application to return back to Roma. SO many emotions, but at least, now it is in the Universe’s hands, not mine! Wish me luck ๐Ÿ™‚

The Joy of Minimalism: A Beginner’s Guide to Happiness with Less

My third book hit shelves this week on January 15th! The Joy of Minimalism: A Beginner’s Guide to Happiness with Less is all about simplifying your life and making room for what truly matters. Of course there is step-by-step guide and tools to physically decluttering, but there is also a large focus on using the concept of minimalism to follow your truest passions in life. You can find this book as various bookstores around North America such as Chapters, Indigo and Barnes & Noble. You can also, of course, purchase it on Amazon. Happy reading ๐Ÿ™‚

My New Red Coat

Some parts of me actually missed the cold in Toronto… Well, only until I walked through a wind tunnel! Fortunately I manifested myself the perfect coat: red (my colour), Vegan (my belief) and chic (my style). I found this coat at Le Chateau and although it is a french store I felt this coat will fit perfectly into my “grande futuro.” What do you think?

img_4082-1799309625-1516375075404.jpg

Surfset Circuit with Nicole

Last night (Thursday) I attended a Surfset class! The theme of this class was circuit training and it was so much fun! I used to attend Surfset classes when I lived in Toronto so I was happy to return for a fun and challenging workout. I brought my friend Nicole for her first time and she loved it too! So nice catching up with her and now I am puppy-sitting her little bundle of joy ๐Ÿ™‚

Have a good weekend everyone!

xx Zo
