Five Things Friday: April 26th, 2019

Hi Friends!

I am back! If you haven’t checked in with me on YouTube or Instagram, I was away in Joshua Tree at a meditation retreat for 11 days – it was incredible! πŸ§˜πŸΌβ€β™€οΈβœ¨ More on the experience below:

Vipassana was an incredible experience for me. The 10 days I spent away in silence was truly life-changing in the most positive way. If you haven’t caught my latest YouTube video I talk more about what the experience brought me in terms of self-awareness. I am grateful to have attended in one of the most beautiful places I have ever been, Joshua Tree (Southern California) πŸŒ΅β˜€οΈ Waking up each day in the desert amongst the bloom was one of the most memorable experiences I have ever had with nature πŸ™πŸΌπŸŒΏ I am so grateful for the gift of my life and how many beautiful experiences I have had so far. I left beaming (and still am) with excitement of what the future holds…

Coffee Shops & Cuddles

This is Roba. I fell in love with her at a coffee shop in San Diego this past week ❀️ She is actually a rescue! Gabby and I spent this morning at Hawthorn Coffee working away. There’s just something about coffee shops with good vibes and good company that make for a perfect day… Simplicity is bliss.

Hiking Blooming Canyons

How beautiful is the Spring bloom? β˜€οΈ I am so lucky to have experiences it in both San Diego and the desert 🌼🌡 Our world is such a beautiful place. Consider this is your reminder to get outside in nature this week (if you can!) and if not, at least find a good park to eat lunch in or go for a gratitude walk. It will do wonders for you!

Sunshine Sister

It was sad to say goodbye to Gabby and her roommates this week πŸ˜” I always have the greatest times with all of them! πŸ’› If I hadn’t signed a lease in Toronto I probably would have missed my flight and moved in with them… Seriously. I am so lucky to have such amazing friends from all over the world. Here’s to more adventures together all over the globe!

Next Chapter

And so it begins… My next chapter in Toronto. Where will it lead? To ABUNDANCE of course!!! πŸ˜ƒ I am feeling very optimistic and excited to share my life with you as it unfolds. Any predictions?

Five Crowns & Coffee

Five Things Friday: March 22, 2019

Hi Friends!

From Vancouver to Toronto, here are the highlights from an incredible week 😊

Canucks Game

I had so much fun on Friday night in Vancouver reuniting with my cousins. We all checked into the River Rock Casino Resort and headed to the Canucks Game πŸ’ Although they lost we had so much fun πŸ˜„ endless laughter with these ones always!

Happy 90th Birthday Bedstemor!

This past weekend was my Bedstemor’s 90th Birthday celebration! She was born on St. Patrick’s Day πŸ€ My heart is incredibly full after spending so much quality family time with my loved ones! Above is Bedstemor and all of her granddaughters 😊

Full Moon Ritual With Mane

On Wednesday Manesha and I celebrated the full moon together with a healing and inspiring ritual. I am truly grateful to have such an incredible woman in my life who I can call a soul sister πŸ’› Manesha has so many powerful healing gifts to share with this world (you can follow her journey on Instagram here) and I am so grateful she shares them with me! From yoga to reiki to herbal remedies to straight-up bomb advice on every subject, she is sunshine in the human form. β˜€οΈ

Fresh Cut, Fantastic Stylist

Tory has been cutting my hair since I first moved to Toronto 6 years ago (wow!) She is the only person I let touch my hair with scissors! βœ‚οΈ She is not only incredibly at her job, but she is such a beautiful person inside and out and always brightens my day! ✨ If you’re looking for a stylist in the 6 she’s your woman! 🀩 You can find her at Medulla & Co on Queen West and on Instagram here.

New Beginnings

Today (Friday) I officially began the in-person training portion of my life coaching course and I couldn’t be more thrilled πŸ˜„ I feel more aligned than ever and am looking forward to all of the positive changes this course and life over the next 6 months has to offer. πŸ™πŸΌ

Five Things Friday: December 21

Hi Friends!

Today I am writing you from bella Roma. It has been an amazing week from Toronto to la città eterna ✨ Here are the highlights:

Saturday Night with Nic

How delicious does this Ramen look? 🍜 Little do you know Nic is wearing matching socks 😜 and she actually has an amazing foodie instagram account! Check her captures out here. We had such a good time on Saturday night catching up over dinner and watching Fantastic Beasts. Simplicity is bliss!

Winter Solstice Workshop

On Sunday I attended a Winter Solstice workshop through the shop Kamomile in the beaches of Toronto. This was a gift from my beautiful friend Manesha 😊 I had such a wonderful time learning how to take advantage of this special day of the year – spiritually, emotionally, physically, etc. This is the day and time to let go of what hasn’t served us in 2018 and bring forth the light in 2019. Get your sage out! πŸ˜‰πŸŒΏ Happy Winter Solstice!

High Tea with Mane!

On Monday afternoon my beautiful soul sister Manesha and I enjoyed High Tea at the Windsor Arms Hotel in Toronto 🍡 The decor and ambiance was absolutely stunning and it definitely felt like we had to have been in London somewhere ✨ Have you ever had High Tea?

It’s been nothing but smiles and laughter since I got back to Rome ❀️ This city and it’s energy is extra beautiful this time of year and I am so happy to be able to share it with you (there’s lots of photos and videos of the lights being shared through Instagram) πŸŽ„ More to come in a Zoey’s Diary video very shortly 😘

I’m back πŸ’› and ready for the best year yet. That means new wishes – I’m currently letting them all brew until 2019 is officially here, then the coins go in! πŸ˜‰ Are you working on your wishes and intentions for the new year?

xx Zo

Five Things Friday: October 19

Hi Friends,

I feel like I’ve been all over the world this week and it has been so wonderful 😊 Here are the highlights:

Pizzeria Ostiense

I couldn’t leave Italy without a stop at Pizzeria Ostiense. Sofie and I spent a beautiful day exploring Roma and catching up, and to top it off we had my favourite Pizza Romana 😍 I don’t look excited at all! We even ate outside because the weather was still warm enough πŸŒ΄β˜€οΈ

Unplanned Trip to Paris

I didn’t plan to be in Paris for long this week – originally my layover was 2 hours; however the Universe had a much different and perhaps more favourable plan for me ✨ The truth is – I could sit here and complain about the inconvenience of the airline of my overseas flight going bankrupt, cancelling all flights and having to fork over almost $1500 to get a new flight last minute – OR – I could take control of my situation, trust the Universe is working in my favour and enjoy a full day of LIVING in Paris – yoga by the canal, a picnic and a visit to the Eiffel Tower ❀️ I’m so grateful for this spontaneous gift of a trip, and to my amazing friend Cheryl for spending it with me! 😊

I love this city and wow, it feels good to be back. So many memories of inspiration, love and finding myself. Although I was born and raised on Vancouver Island, I grew up in Toronto. This city will always feel the most comfortable for me. If you’re curious about my journey and have not yet read Beauty and the Breakdown (my first and favourite book) it is now available worldwide as a PDF download. You can check it out here 😊

I feel Home

As mentioned above I feel the most comfortable in Toronto. I feel a bit of reverse culture shock happening since being away from Canada for almost a year… Upon stepping off the airplane and breathing in all that fresh air, spending the day running around Toronto and seeing familiar faces, I feel a huge sense of home and pride. Proud to be Canadian ❀️

Nicole and I met almost 6 years ago studying abroad in Cuba 🌴 Who would have thought 6 years later we would still be having tons of fun, laughter and smiles in the city of Toronto? 😊 I’m so grateful we spontaneously met in the Caribbean, wound up living in the same city and even though I’ve been gone for almost 2 years are still such great friends today πŸ’•πŸ€— Love you Nic!

xx Zo

Five Things Friday: January 19th

Hi Friends!

Each Friday I am now going to be writing about five of my favourite things & moments from the week. I hope you enjoy it πŸ™‚

My Friend Mikaela

If you had been following along on my adventures on Instagram you would have known it was quite the journey from Nanaimo, Vancouver Island, British Columbia to Toronto, Ontario. My amazing friend Mikaela was there for me every step of the way, from waking up with me at 3:30am to call the airline when my flight was cancelled, driving me to-and-from the airport multiple times when my flights were cancelled multiple times, listening and responding to my rambling, emotional voicenotes and even bringing snacks! This girl deserves the world and I am so grateful to have her as one of my best friends in this life.

Arriving in Toronto: The Pursuit of Italy

So I finally made it to Toronto! I have had a great time settling back in (for a little while) with my amazing friends Steph and Dan, you may remember them from our adventures in Cinque Terre or Tuscany. This trip marks the middle ground for heading back to Italy; I have also officially handed in my VISA application to return back to Roma. SO many emotions, but at least, now it is in the Universe’s hands, not mine! Wish me luck πŸ™‚

The Joy of Minimalism: A Beginner’s Guide to Happiness with Less

My third book hit shelves this week on January 15th! The Joy of Minimalism: A Beginner’s Guide to Happiness with Less is all about simplifying your life and making room for what truly matters. Of course there is step-by-step guide and tools to physically decluttering, but there is also a large focus on using the concept of minimalism to follow your truest passions in life. You can find this book as various bookstores around North America such as Chapters, Indigo and Barnes & Noble. You can also, of course, purchase it on Amazon. Happy reading πŸ™‚

My New Red Coat

Some parts of me actually missed the cold in Toronto… Well, only until I walked through a wind tunnel! Fortunately I manifested myself the perfect coat: red (my colour), Vegan (my belief) and chic (my style). I found this coat at Le Chateau and although it is a french store I felt this coat will fit perfectly into my “grande futuro.” What do you think?

Surfset Circuit with Nicole

Last night (Thursday) I attended a Surfset class! The theme of this class was circuit training and it was so much fun! I used to attend Surfset classes when I lived in Toronto so I was happy to return for a fun and challenging workout. I brought my friend Nicole for her first time and she loved it too! So nice catching up with her and now I am puppy-sitting her little bundle of joy πŸ™‚

Have a good weekend everyone!

xx Zo
